Sojourner
OK, I'm going to make a disclaimer here that I'm not a fan of Jennifer Lopez, but I have read that she grew up Catholic, and may still lay some claim to the name. I'll do the research and get back to you on it.
nikkan_hanil
Hmm...I guess you guys didn't take me seriously when I dropped that topic about all those Catholic Korean celeberties...<_<
Ash Wednesday
Nikkan, I didn't think you were joking! South Korea has become one of the most staunchly Christian nations in Asia. Sojourner -- What we DO know, is that J-Lo has a diamond studded toilet seat that rivals the kinds of things you see in the Vatican museum.... :toilet:

the_rev
Here is my research on Michael Badalucco: Michael Badalucco is surely an outstanding Catholic. Michael at a young age was raised a Catholic, became an altar boy, and attended Catholic schools. Michael credits his strong faith in God today to his parents, for taking the time to introduce him to God, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, along with all the saints. During the summer a talk show called “Personally Speaking“, hosted by Msgr. Jim Lisante, featured three Catholics, they were; Dom DeLuise Catherine Hicks, Michael Badalucco. This show was on NBC, and was actually aired three times, because everyone wanted to see it more than once. I myself was unable to watch it due to a retreat. Michael recently married Brenda Heyob. Michael told Brenda that they would not live together, because one of Michael’s teachers who was a religious sister, said that they should stay apart until marriage, to see if their love is strong. Badalucco’s philosophy is rooted in his devout Catholic upbringing, to which he remains very committed. During the interview, he opened his planner to show Msgr. a picture of Brenda, and interspersed among the photos of their nieces and nephews were several prayer cards with pictures of saints on them. The planner painted a vivid picture of Badalucco’s values: family, church, and the busy schedule of an actor who’s balancing a television career and a movie career. The values that guide his personal and professional life also define his self-image. So, from the evidence presented, Michael today, is a strong Catholic, practicing his faith on an every day basis! Sojourner
What does that mean? No way J. Lo is Catholic (currently). Well, I'm not finding much about her faith today; she grew up Catholic, her first marriage was Catholic and she was trying to get it annulled so she could get married to Ben Affleck in the Catholic Church. Does that count as her claiming to be Catholic?
Sojourner
Oh, and an interesting sidenote to this research is that I found that Jim Caviezel, who played opposite J-Lo in "Angel Eyes" and is currently playing the role of Jesus in "The Passion of the Christ" is purported to be a devout Catholic. I'll do some more research on him.

EcceNovaFacioOmni
Alright Dust, I did a write-up on Knute Rockne for the page. You can edit it or delete it or whatever. Here it is: Knute Rockne (1888-1931) - Football Coach Knute Rockne was captain of the 1913 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. His revolutionary forward pass technique helped little known ND defeat the nation's top teams and eventually enter prominence themselves after he took over as head coach in 1918. Knute Rockne is remembered as a great man and the one who made football the vastly popular sport that it is today. Knute was born a Protestant in Norway, but during his influential years at Notre Dame, he converted to Catholicism in 1925, and was great friends with many of the Holy Cross priests at the school. He is forever associated with the well-known Four Horsemen and the legendary Gipper speech, where he told his team the story of one of his greatest players at Notre Dame on his deathbed, inspiring them to win the game. He is a celebrity to football fans everywhere and his .881 winning percentage has never been topped in college or the pros. He died a tragic death in 1931 in a plane crash on his way to discuss the possibility of a movie about Notre Dame. He is a green light by the way. Knute was a very good guy, if you need more proof I can get back to you.

Ellenita
OK dUSt, I'll do something on Donnie Wahlberg (brother of Mark), now enjoying an acclaimed acting career. It will be a pleasure since he is the reason I found Phatmass in the first place! :D He was raised a Catholic, married in a Catholic church and has openly talked about being a Catholic and what his faith in God means to him on chat shows - I'll find the references, and see if there is anything else I can find out!
