Celebrity Researchers Needed

I'll be re-vamping the celebrity section soon. I want to feature as many Catholic celebrities as possible. One of the new features will be a "Fidelity Rating" that will be assigned each celebrity.

Here's what I'm thinking for the fidelity ratings:

Green - evidence shows that they are Catholic, and they publicly embrace the faith through words and actions

Yellow - evidence shows that they are Catholic, and their words and actions do not contradict the faith

Red - evidence shows that they claim to be Catholic, but their words and actions contradict Church teaching

Here's where I need YOUR help. It shouldn't be too hard--just about an hour of internet research should do it. I'd like for volunteers to help gather info and write a small 1/2 page write-up on each celebrity. The write-up must contain evidence that the celebrity is Catholic, with sources. The sources must be referenced. Direct quotes from the celebrities themselves are always preferable. You can recommend a fidelity rating along with your write-up, but make sure that whatever you rate the celebrity, it's backed up in your write-up.

I'm also creating a phatmass "staff" page soon, and this will get you on it as a contributing writer (for resume purposes if you care about such a thing).

So... if you're interested in doing a write up, REPLY TO THIS THREAD and indicate the celebrity you'll be handling. You can do one or a hundred--doesn't matter. I'm hoping to get as many volunteers as possible.

Deadline will be end of January. If you'd like to contribute to this site, please volunteer and follow through.

God bless.

In fact... it might be a good idea to just post your write-up right here in this thread. That way, they'll all be in one place and I can just come back and reference it when I begin to build the new section.

Ready... Set... GO!

I know of two particular bad Catholics. I'm not sure if it'd be useful to give you a right-up about them or not. It'd only add to the red list.

We need to have celebs in the red too, for accountability reasons, and to call them out. It's better to show our dissaproval so that others will know that the Church does not condone immoral behavior.

Bill O'Reilly - Claims to be Catholic in his book yet and attends Mass. He has odd personal views of God and religion that aren't entirely orthodox.

Christina Aguilera - She claims to be Catholic on her website. Doesn't show it very well ("Dirrty" video etc.).

Christina suprised me - she just donated $200,000 to a local womens shelter here.

Can we write about famous clergy, like the Pope or famous Cardinals?

Well, maybe it might be better not to write anything about those clergy in the yellow or red?
