hyperdulia again
belong to the Roman Rite? I think it'd be cool to have a Melkite or Ruthenian. Is it possible? Edited December 23, 2003 by hyperdulia again
BLAZEr
No, the pope would not have to be a Latin Rite priest. At least not technically. Who knows what the Holy Spirit has planned . . . However, as Pope, and technically, the Latin Rite Bishop of Rome, then he would have to perform his duties as the Latin Rite Bishop. So, basically, he wouldn't have to start out a Latin Rite bishop, but he would end up one.
