AlterDominicus
Pray For Us As I sit here typing dreaming I cant help, but think the unbelieving Knowing that God is near us, pray for us. As I walk down the sidewalk, I feel a little knock, its the door opening to my heart thats just around the block, feeling God is near us pray for us. As I stand here atop a mountain, really in the sprinkling fountain, of Rome, America, and France, I feel like God is leading me into a loving trance, sensing God is near us, pray for us, as I swing in my childhood playground, I remember the days on the pitching mound, how the crowd cheered when I struck the plays out, hearing God is near us, pray for us. As I start jumping bolting like the thunderstorm, I remember Matthew 24, and the chime of verse 27, it reminds me of my favorite numbers the evens, and although things seem odd it really depends on God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. As I sit here typing dreaming I cant help, but think the unbelieving Knowing that God is near us, pray for us. I feel a little knock, its the door opening to my heart thats just around the block, feeling God is near us pray for us.

AlterDominicus
Thank you uruviel! I love writing poetry. Here is one I wrote to Sister Judith Miryam of the Trinity O.P. of the Dominican Nuns of Our Lady of the Rosary Monastery in Summit, NJ for her feast day last year. HAPPY FEAST DAY! This morning when I woke up I had an odd feeling. Stuck inside my heart that it was not believing. "11 months!" I shouted wishing it was a year. My lips to God's ear. Not only a Sister, but a Spiritual Mother. Someone who I will tell stories of to my brother. With compassion and love that is as bright as the sun. No wonder why she brightens the hearts of everyone. A guitarist like I, she has great musical taste. It makes me want to dance everytime I see her face. And when I think about her I remember her laugh. It brings tears to my eyes, knowing I have someone watching my back. So! Today is your Feast Day, I have said many prayers. Wishing you a most blessed event, because I care. I love you with my heart as well as others to. But since its your Feast Day, I love you! Point out a few things. A) At that time, we had been hanging out and have totally befriended one another, and it was 11 months, almost like our anniversery you could say. B) Sister Judith Miryam, when I had emailed summit for some vocation info, was the 1st one to respond to my email, and ever since then she has been a mother, always taking care of me, praying for me, sending me things, ending our convos with, "love you" and doing things and saying things a mother would to a child. C) She does play like Guitar like I do, and when I told her that she suggested Jars of Clay a great Christian Rock Band D) Her laugh is hilarious, just the slightest hint and you crack up. E) She is always watching my back, I mean you can tell she cares, she loves, she has that voice.
Servant_of_Eve
I am not worthy of this cross It seems so... Impossible Unbearable yet, it is the only way in which I can love you they need a father they need a shepard Lord grant me this gift This blessing of your call This sacrament of salvation Let me be a sacrifice Let me be a victim For the sake of their salvation May I decrease Lord So thay you may live in me i beg you Lord When I am afraid Give me courage When I despair Give me hope When I am angry Give me love Lord Grant me the cross of the priesthood

I was inspired by it. What you have written has a deep meaning and a reality that is hard to express in words. Very well done. I pray that you perservere in your vocation to priesthood. I sense in the sentiment that you have expressed, a deep love for Christ which gives the crosses we bear meaning. God continue to bless you with His love. Theologian in Training
I actually ended a homily with this poem, of course, I did not credit myself, but a "contemporary poet." Enjoy Faith I will walk on water Once When my faith is strong Taking strides, Balanced on mirrored footsteps, Watching the sun dance In tiny ripples I will try to find my way To the other side. Only, just when I come close I will remember, like St. Peter, That I am only a man.
