Um, have you used Linux in this millenium?  How many years ago did you try it?

He is right about the what prints out part. I am going nuts trying to get open office to print without messing up anything (like making no upper margin and a 4 inch bottom margin). I have the same issue when printing PDF's, but it isn't my printer. That just drives me up a wall, now I have to hike to a computer lab and the only computer's I am sure I can always use 24/7 are Mac's (well, I just need Office so what the heck) but I can't print from them. I have to print to a network printer, which then means I have to hunt it down.

I use postscript laser printers, and I don't have any problems. I know a lot of printers are really windows-only printers -- the manufacturer doesn't put any brains in the printer, and they have proprietary drivers. <_<

It is an HP printer and the first page prints normal (form Open Office) but after that each page is moved down about 2 inchs. If I say print page 1 and then page 2 and then page 3 (one at a time) they come out normal but a the text is redish brown. Like Iron (III) oxide color. I am thinking about just putting it in the storage server and saving it as a PDF and then printing in the chem student's only discussion room/computer lab.

Red Hat hasn't been making distributions since 2003, so your experience is at least 4 years out of date... which is a very long time in open source development!

Sorry. :( I might be able to fix it if I was there, but I can't help from here. Inkjet, I guess?
