Theo: you'd have a point if it was spoken something about "France and its stupidity". Exemplia gratia, if someone said "I hate France and its stupidity", there would be the clear indication that the body of France is hated, although it is so on account of its stupidity. C'est vrai que la France a des difficulters de ces jours-ci, et que ces difficulters sont de ses propres fautes.
