Unfortunately, there is a lot of truth in this article.

1. Science is devaluating human life, and the ideas that devaluate seem to gbe growing in support.

2. Ther are gruesome challenges ahead of humanity.

However, as any good partisan of the devil does, he twists the truth, lies, and uses it all for his own end.

1. Depletion and energy crissi in the world is a major (and potentially lethal) problem. However the cause is not overpopulation; it is the lifestyle of consumerism that is plaguing industrialised societies. Think about this; oil runs out - 800 million chinese farmers won't even know the difference.

2. We are better than bacteria and a neighbor who fails to reply does not constitute proof of this. Besides, even if we are no better, we are no worse.

After all is said and done with debating against these people, the one truth which they do not accept and that I live full heartidedly is this;

In the face of annihilliation I still plan futures for my children.

The world has always been ending - who cares. Fix the problems I can and prepare the next generation. Lets have a lot of courage, and bit a of faith; a combination that can go a long long long way. Been gowing for thousands of years with the hebrews and the Catholics...

;)

Back to you Bob...

Mateo el Feo

He talks about killing off people with Ebola as a solution to population control. I wonder if he wouldn't mind demonstrating how the ebola virus works...on himself

Yeah, he thinks globally, but fails to act locally.

Church Punk

They forget one thing in there plan. God is Omnipotent, do they not think the God will put an end to there shinanagans? There plan sounds eerily like some of the scientist in Nazi Germany. Look what happened to that plan.

Now wait a minute, this guy is a scientist and scientists dont lie!

and they always check the facts.

Why look at this cute little article:
South Korea Government to Spend $20 Billion to Combat Underpopulation  Email this article

Seoul, South Korea (LifeNews.com) -- Because of legalized abortion and the revocation of maternity benefits to women who have a third child South Korea is facing a severe underpopulation problem and will soon spend $20 billion to combat it.
Fearing overpopulation problems similar to China's and not wanting to dampen economic prosperity, South Korea 40 years ago began encouraging couples to limit their number of children to two.

The nation legalized abortion in 1973 and, in 1984, ended maternity benefits for women having a third child.

Now, South Korea has the lowest birth rate of any of the OECD members and is having problems sustaining its economic growth. It also faces the prospect of an aging population and not having enough younger Koreans in the workforce to support them.

National Statistical Office figures show the number of births dropped to 476,000 last year from 1 million in 1970. The nation has the world's fastest aging population, the office said.

The Korea Economic Institute in Washington says the current problems are the result of the population policies South Korea put into effect long ago.

The $20 billion will go towards paying for kindergarten costs for all children and additional financial help for families with three or more children, according to a Bloomberg report.

Some $6 billion will be used to pay for more day care centers while $680 million will go towards helping infertile couples conceive.

Bloomberg reports the country wants to increase the number of births to 1.6 per woman by 2010. The country is also considering changes to the nation's tax structure to make it more affordable to have a larger family and to help businesses help large families.
By the way, what does Italie, Japan, Germany, Spain and Russia all have in common?

They all have birth rates LOWER than 1.3 and it is droping (ok, not sure about russia here, but I know they are not far behind).

Overpopulation? Are you sure Mr.Doom? Maybe we should kill off 90% of humanity and double-check those figures afterwards? Afterall, this is an emergency.

Seriously though, guys like this bone-head are geting rampant, and worst still, getting support.

There will be morte genocides, and worst still. Humanity, once again, has not learned its lesson.

The "Dr. Doom" title made me think this would be about the Marvel Comics villian - and indeed, this character talks like a comic book villain - he actually talks a lot like Ra's al Ghul from Batman.

But seriously, it shows that there is something seriously wrong in the academic world when this lunatic gives a lecture at the Texas Acadamy of Sciences, saying that 90% of the human race should be killed in a horrific manner, and he is greeted with a standing ovation!

The lunatics have indeed taken over the assylum! When people largely are cheered and praised for saying such things, it reveals the moral bankruptcy of our institutions of "higher learning." This is the Culture of Death at its worst.

(But one can only imagine the howls of outrage and protest that would erupt if this professor had instead preached creationism, or said that salvation comes from Jesus Christ, of course!)

And Dr. Pianka defended himself against charges that Africans would be the target of such an Ebola attack, by explaining how the virus would be spread to America and Europe as well - as if, while racism is unacceptable, indescriminate mass murder is a-ok! (Though he also made the Nazi-like complaint that only mentally inferior people were breeding, causing a decline in the human race.)

Russia's fertility rate is 1.3, and its population has been declining steadily since 1990. (It has the biggest population decrease, as life expectancy is much lower than in Germany, Italy, Japan, etc.)

Cow of Shame

An evaluation written by one of his students...
I found it a bit chilling....these are our future analytical scientists?
his is the closest thing this university has to a true religion course and Pianka is the perfect preacher. In other science courses we are taught to look at things specifically and therefore lose the big picture. In this class we study the big picture. "Why are we here?" That question is answered in evolution. Everyone should be required to take this class to "spread the word."
Woah, this guy is crazy!!! :o Even out in the northeast we have empty areas. For more info. to fight the overpopulation myth and anti- life supporters, see Population Research Institute www.pop.org
what's scary is that this guy has supporters, and others who think like them. Socrates mentioned Ras al Ghul from Batman.. I hate that character, and the part in the movie where he's explaining to Bruce aka Batman his idea and plan for destroying Gotham, I get chills because I realize it's scarily like what some crazy moderns think as the solutions to problems.
