Didacus
See what happens when people reject the Authority given by Christ to His Church? pathetic.
Pathetic would not be my choice of word. 'Sad', 'lamentable', '[frustrating' comes to mind, but not 'pathetic'.
cathoholic_anonymous
It would have been dope, if our Church kept Bibles locked up so we would'nt have so many heretics. Seriously.
We also wouldn't have so many saints.
Starets
I once had a priest friend of mine once argue that the Jesus Seminar was the summit of protestantism. After all, here you have private interpretation taken to its logical conclusion: deciding by ballot what Bible passages you are going to accept and which ones you arent going to accept. And what arbitrary rules you are going to use in order to determine canonicity.
st-annes
The Jesus Seminar stopped at my campus when I was in graduate school. I missed a chance to go. Looks like I was lucky.
Nathan
There are all sorts of Christians like this guy in academia (including so-called Catholics). They basically take the dogmas and doctrines of Christianity, compare them with whatever objective "evidence" is at hand (usually historical criticism of the Scriptures, early Church history, etc.), and whatever doesn't gel with what their independent research findings tell them, they cease to believe in. It was only a matter of a few years between the founding of the Lutheran Heresy and declaring James a "straw epistle".

I find it sad that these Catholics are running around and making it into authoritative teaching positions and spreading the gospel of relativism. It's a sad thing. And they get so much press attention! Nothing sells quite like controversy.
