I will never pray for his canonization, for the devil's advocate will rightfully stop it. I will, however, pray for the repose of his soul, and I try to do so every week.

Since you think he was so sinful, if you were a good christian you would be praying for him and the other popes you mentioned continuously 24 hours a day ....and yourself for judging the state of someone elses soul.
I suppose you don't like Mother Teresa either...

I am just waiting to see if there is a canonization, to see if he will be obedient in this regard. :idontknow:

[mod] edited out STMs quoted post -- IPKRS[/mod]

Let us also recall JPII's life. Born in Poland, lost his mother at an early age and then his brother. Nazis invaded and was forced to work in a rock quarry. Risked his life to train to become a priest [anyone caught studying for the priesthood was executed on the spot] Carried a Jewish woman on his back, otherwise she would have died before reaching her destination. Lived as a priest under Communist rule. He lived a thousand horrors before he even became pope.

Became pope. Was the most visible witness to the Catholic faith in our time. He evangelized the world. There is also one miracle that is being attributed to him. I would not be a bit surprised if his beatification was announced soon.

Every super we end our family prayer by saying "God keep close to you John-Paul the Great".

May he forever pray for us.

Our diocese is having a Lenten youth retreat on that day where he will be honored.

Careful, he might get mad at you if you call out the fact that he is a wee lad of 13.

i got an email saying that parishes are trying to schedule adoration during the divine mercy hour on that day. he was attached to that prayer and of course to Christ in the Eucharist so that will be a very special way to remember him.
Oh, your royal highness, the princess of phatmass, just because I knew no other pope does not mean i cant READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyways, Paul VI was an even worse Pope, and I presume that JPI was also not very excellent.
What is this, Bring Your Trad Kids to the Phorum Day on phatmass? Good Dog Almighty. I'd say more but I don't have the energy.

God bless the pope. I remember last year not too long before he died he held the crucifix and meditated on it so lovingly while Ratzinger recited the stations of the cross.

I think he would reach the kingdom of heaven far before anyone on this board. Especially the prideful. You know who you are.

sigh. He was a great man. Ooh, my Granny bought me this amazing book of his life in pictures. Leather-bound with gold-edged pages. I love it
