Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
that is no fun either. i always go to the end of the line if that happens. i also do not like when someone is in the other side of the confessional, and can here things. MagiDragon
lol, that reminds me! i went to confession to an old priest that was *very* hard of hearing! lol, the confessional was right off of the chapel that mass was about to be said in. Monsignor kept asking me to speak up . . . but i was already shouting! it was *SO* embarassing walking out of there!!! *grins wryly* at least i know i had to be sorry for my sins to go through *that* confession! kateri05
i don't really care, but i guess i usually do go face-to-face. its funny tho, hearing people's comments about their reasons for one over the other. you'd think with my well developed catholic guilt complex, that i would be paranoid about what the priest would think of me but i have honestly never had that problem. i've heard too many priests explain how they honestly don't remember a single thing AND how they've heard everything before (ie. people way "badder" than me). old confessionals are fun EXCEPT The ones with no lightbulbs. the darkness is a little scary. you can't see the angels in the dark

Balthazor
I go face to face..... it keeps me humble(er) I figure, I should always be able to fess up to anything I did. And if I want to be in politics it means that there may be times that I have to be held accountable face to face to the public, the media or someone else. So I try not to be afraid and go in and tell everything....even if it really really hurts to say it face to face. Besides I find that I have a better examination of conscience if I go face to face than behind a screen.... I think because I take the sacrement more seriously. missionarybelle
When I made my first confession, my mom wanted me to never be afraid of going face to face so until about 2 years ago, I didn't even know "behind the screen" existed! I've still never been with the screen because It's just a habit and it would be strange.

Resurrexi
My first confession was face to face. It's been behind the screen ever since, and at the church I usually go to confession at, face to face isnt even an option.

crazymaine catholic
while face to face keeps me more humble, i prefer the screen. i find i can be a bit more prayerful and not so nervous and guilty feeling if i'm by myself.
Keyser Soze
I dunno, call me old fashoned or whatever but I like to hang up-side-down from the ceiling with the priest directly below me when I confess my sins.
