Tindomiel
Whenever there's an option, I go behind the screen, but I don't mind going face to face on retreats and such.
Sojourner
My first one was face to face. Hated it. I now exclusively go behind the screen.
djc08
I use a walkie talkie (I thing that's how you spell it) with a voice disquiser.
Are you for real...or joking. I'm really gullible. I don't like going to a priest I know with out the screen. And I prefer to kneel when I recieve the sacrament. Like I was the first one to go one time at a communal reconciliation service and the priest was standing off to the side of the altar and I walked up to him and knelt on the step below him. He gave me a funny look and shrugged and just started. But when I walked back to my seat everyone gave me a look like "great you set a standard and know we all have to kneel"
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
a walkie talkie would invalidate the confession.
zunshynn
I would much rather go face to face. My confessor knows my voice by now anyway so it would be kind of dumb to go behind a screen. The screen makes things too impersonal.
zunshynn
Sometimes I like to tell people, esp when you are scared to go, that when you go behind the screen, it's easier to remember that it's Jesus forgiving. . .and not the priest.
funny... it's the opposite for me.
zwergel88
I'm all about the behind the screen. At first when I used to go at my own parish, I went face to face, but now I prefer to go elsewhere and alot of churches in my area don't have face to face so I got in the habit of just going behind the screen and I really prefer that now.
No, not necessarily when I'm scared... what I mean is that I find that confessing face to face helps me remember that it is Jesus himself that is forgiving and absolving me. I guess because the confessional feels like I'm talking to a wall... and seeing the man sitting in for Jesus helps me. I don't really get scared of going to confession anymore... it's so awesome. But I still always feel nervous.
Proud2BCatholic139
I think it depends for me. I normally like to go face to face, but sometimes, I need the courage too.
