there is one main reason why geo-centrism doesn't work, and keating called sunengenis on it in an online debate once and sunengenis gave a cop-out answer

if the stars are moving around the earth at the rate they appear to move around the earth, and are at the distance away from us that we know them to be, then the distance they must travel in a shorter time is far larger than the distance the earth would have to travel to account for the same thing. these stars would have to be traveling far faster than the speed of light. it's impossible.
