Cathurian
So my mom and I were at a pyschiatrist. Apparently, my dad was put on medicine for paranoid schizophrenia, but only for a little while. Had I EVER heard this before? Nope. So, if my dad was on schizophrenia medicine, he probably had it, and maybe I really AM just crazy, and I don't get to find out for a while now (the next appointment is in a month). This really smells of elderberries. I mean this really, really, REALLY smells of elderberries, cause now it's about 1000000000 times more likely that I'm just crazy and have schizophrenia and have been hallucinating everything that's happened to me. So maybe there was no demon, I just made it aaaaaall up, and Jesus never talked to me, and I don't get to be a nun. It's already bad enough without me being crazy. I'm going to cry. Tink
WELL, definitely don't lose heart or think that you're nuts or anything. My mother is paranoid bipolar schizophrenic with borderline personality-identity disorder. I didn't see her from 2nd grade till my freshman year. One thing I think if funny is that so many people (myself included) tend to classify things as medical or spiritual... I think Satan works in powerful ways by seizing hold of the mind and using it as a form of oppression. I can certainly say this from experience. SO, If you are diagnosed with it, be glad it's not worse than that and consider it an opportunity to battle Satan head to head with Jesus' aid... a blessing of sorts! My prayers are definitely with you!

Theologian in Training
Cathurian, While it may be possible the episodes were psychologically related, speaking to you, I can honestly say it do not think it was 100% psychological. The only reason I say that is because you exhibit an understanding and a vast knowledge of spiritual realities, that honestly cannot all be "self-induced." Further, though it can explain some things, I don't think it can adequately explain everything. Perhaps, there is a combination of the two, but I don't think it is all "in your head," as it were. Just my .02, take it for what it's worth, who is more than aware that he is definitely not a psychologist. God Bless

magnificat
Cathurian, I was a psych major in high school and I've had visions that I know weren't my imagination. So I don't know if you were or were not hallucinating. And seeing a shrink is never all that fun. But, I will pray for the peace of Christ to rest upon you and that hte Holy Spirit may give you fortitude over the next month. God bless
Fides_et_Ratio
Either way, pray and find a good spiritual director and listen to the psychiatrist with regards to possibly taking meds or something if they think it might be schizophrenia. Prayers for you in your time of struggle.
toledo_jesus
well I for one am glad that you sought a medical explanation for your troubles. All too often people attribute their ailments to demons and other such things when in reality sometimes they are just in need of some plain old counseling or maybe medication. Myles Domini
Cathurian I think you'd do well to pray to St Eustochium of Padua and not to worry so much. The best way to defeat negative thoughts is not to think further on them but to open the mind to the Divine Light and light and ponder nothing else but the love that flows forth from His face:
