I second her reaction. Yes, The Postal Service is amazing.

And if anyone out there is a fan of movie soundtracks, I highly recommend the Garden State Soundtrack.

I actually was able to get a copy of a few episodes last night (legally) and, to be honest, I hate hospital dramas, for the obvious reasons, but I must say, this show has absolutely blown me away. It is probably one of the most amazing shows I have seen in years. It is such a strong strong show. The music is definitely phenomenal. Of course, the songs I really like are not even released yet....I am sure they wil be on iTunes soon though :)

McDreamy

Although, I have to say I like Meredith better than Mrs. McDreamy. But, I respect that the McDreamys are working things out.

I by no means wish to start an arguement, b/c I do think McDreamy is, well, dreamy. But he just doesn't do it for me.... I think it's the funny facial hair. Have I fallen off my rocker and gone bonkers?

Oh I love Meredith but there is something about Mrs McDreamy that I totally love too. They both win me for different reasons. If I had to choose a camp ground it would probably be Meredith's while I secretly rooted for Mrs McDreamy for her somewhat in-line morals. At least she's making the effort to save what she partially ruined!

McDreamy is dreamy in his unpolished look. It's his killer smile. I do agree he could do more to make himself more presentable and attractive but gosh... all the time he spends at the hospital and with the new dog... I can see him not really wanting to spend the time (or having the time to spend) on his face. He's cute with or without.

The first ep I watched was the two-part one with the bomb, the baby, and the tensions all around. I think it was titled "Its the end of the world" and then "as we know it." I though the ending of "as we know it" was incredibly powerful. I thought that song really enhanced the scene...it was beautiful. In fact, I was so captivated by that song, that I searched out the artist and song. It is called "Unlike Me" and it is by a woman called Kate Havnevik. The lyrics are incredible. Granted, she won't be winning any best Catholic poetry awards, but still.

BTW, unfortunately, she has not released this exact song, which is the acapella version. She does plans to though but it does not sound like it will be on her upcoming CD.

UNLIKE ME (Words by Kate Havnevik)

There are no guarantees in life
Not for the present nor for the future
All I know is that I'm here
Don't know for how long
I love the way you live so intensely
Enjoy every minute of life
With space to swing your arms around
Laughing loudly

Unlike me
Unlike me
Do you think I'm strange

Unlike you
Unlike you
I am not pretending

There is no time
There is no time
There is no time
Time doesn't really exist

The past, the present and the future
Are all side by side hand in hand
You move and change
Yet you go nowhere
Everything stays the same
You stare at me and ask me questions
Makes me nervous
This room it keeps a constant tone
While I'm on a rollercoaster

Unlike me
Unlike me
Do you think I'm strange

Unlike you
Unlike you
I am not pretending

There is no time
There is no time
There is no time
Time doesn't really exist

Kate Havnevik, the author of "Unlike Me" has released her CD on iTunes. Unfortunately, they have not yet released the a cappella version, but apparently will being doing so soon. The CD is OK, I have not purchased it, but the other samples I heard are good, but not as powerful as "Unlike Me."

Not sure what I think about him. He has an interesting sound, which almost sounds like Simon and Garfunkel at times, and Danien Rice at other other times, but I am not sure I really like it. He is good, and I could listen to it, but I am not particularly moved or inspired by his music as I am by others. I am definitely a fan of Laura Veirs though, especially the song they had on Grey's Anatomy a while back called "Rapture."
