ktbeth
Here, read this quote. I love it! “In truly civilized nations there is a balance between men and women, the spiritual equality of mates and comrades. A nation in which women dominate men is decadent. And a nation in which women are the slaves and chattels of men is barbarous.” That pretty much sums up my thoughts! It's from the book: Isabella of Spain, by William Thomas Walsh. YMNolan
to me it seems only natural to be a gentleman (I'm not boasting, I swear). If I forget to hold a door open or take a women's coat or something, I actually feel like I've done something wrong.
Paphnutius
Yes radical feminism is a major factor (not the sole contributor mind you) of a decrease in chivalry. I recall a time when I opened a door for one I considered to be a lady, I was mistaken. I opened to door for her and she retored, "You do not need to open to door for me because I am a lady." To which I responded, "Ma'am, I did not open the door for you because you are a lady, that much is obvious. I opened the door because I am a gentleman." Nevermind you I open the door for my male friends as well, I simply believe that a person is too defer to another whenever possible.

cmotherofpirl
Guys should always hold doors for girls, help them with heavy objects and change their tires. Those are my rules.
it all depends.. if a man rushes in front of me to grab a door, I will probably trip over him. if I am carrying a heavy package and need help I will ask for it. I don't do tires, that is the job of a teenager of either sex.

cmotherofpirl
I think it depends on what you define as chivalrous or being a gentleman.
