Feminism and it's effects

I just got a new job at a park. I will be working in the boat house there, selling fishing supplies, renting out boats, helping people with getiing on and off boats, etc. While I was there getting some training, a guy that works there said that since I was a girl, I could always ask a guy to help me with getting boats ready for the people to get on them. My supervisor heard him and he said, "Now that's a sexist statement." I personally don't think that it was; in fact, I thought it was nice of the guy to say that. I wonder if men are constantly worried about holding doors for women, offering to help to help women, etc., etc., because of the society we live in, and the way that a lot of people think in America, especially women! I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

I never worry about upsetting feminists by chivalrous gestures. Most women thank me, when I open doors for them, etc.
Anyone who gets upset by such things has serious problems.

But then, where I live isn't really a hotbed of liberal extremism.

I think the reason there is less chivalry is simply that fewer boys are brought up to be chivalrous - and I'd feminism is a factor in this, as well as the general decline in civility.

I really don't think its necessary for a male to rush ahead of me and open a door if I am there first. The shock usually causes me to trip over them.
I am capable unless I am in high heels, then I need all the help I can get. :)

I do appreciate it when I am carrying large objects - tires, drywall, appliances etc. THEN I get a little ticked if I have to do it myself.

I appreciate when a man is gentlemanly enough to open a door for me or allow me to even walk through a cross walk in a parking lot instead of barreling through. chilvalry is definitely the exception anymore. :(

God bless the gentlemen!

Being in a relationship with someone who practically begs me to let him open the door is very amusing. ^_^ I adore his chivalry, I encourage it.

Feminists nowadays don't know what they're missing. Just chill out, and enjoy masculinity in its pure form. :)

Me too! That's why I was kind of mad when my supervisor said that, because I think that it made the guy feel kind of dumb.

I was at City Hall last week, and a lady held the door open for me.

'Bout time, if you ask me.

No, men and women are equal, but different.
