HELP! please pray to St Dymphna

She was discharged from the crisis unit yesterdayb afternoon, as it is an adult unit, and she was the only one under 45 yrs---She hated it there, but the doc agreed to let her do a day program, which she is terrified of, but I think it will be important. Our previous psychiatrist NEVER started her on therapy, just dealt with meds---said when we got those stabilized it would be time for therapy -==-WRONG. This whole thing could have been avoided had she had therapy all along.

Thank you all for the personal messages--it is so very helpful. She had a bad night, started on Wellbutrin, and it kept her up all night. She is so hopeless and sad. We are not letting her out of our sight (aka, being totally alone)

My heart goes out to you.

We can give 200 % for awhile, maybe a fortnight. Somehow the parents have to pace themselves. Accept any help - for anything, not only directly surrounding your dear 14 yr old.

Being in similar crisis right now, I'm numb and can't say much more. I cannot pray much - others can. When I'm stronger I can pray more.

Grace attaches to nature. When our nature is debilitated what will the grace adhere to? It's still there, but it don't feel like it. Therefore, when under chronic and debilitating stress which exhausts you, refrain from judging yourself, esp. spiritually, in the days and months to come. It may well "feel" like the Faith isn't there, because of exhaustion.

Find a priest who gets the real world and who prays and who believes and who loves purity. Get educated about your daughter's illness. Eat and sleep regularly whenever you can, make it top priority.

Will someone help spell you guys in not leaving her alone?

You all have been so very supportive--a true lifeline of God's love...

She finally got admitted today to a day program in our town--get this, the poor thing was up and ready and we were at the center at 8:45, they never got the referral on Saturday, we waited and waited, and they came out and said 'We didn't get the referral--now we are full here'

Needless to say, we called the manager in, and thanks to God's grace, she was added to the group (11, they usually have 10 only) as it was a clerical error from the crisis center at the main hospital. FRUSTRATION but perhaps we are being lead to a therapist God wants, and this path is just unorthodox....

Please pray for my other children, our 13 yr old son who is ADHD/LD/DD and our 16 yr old who has endured bulemia and cutting. We will be having family therapy as an adjucnt.

Your pm's have been a Godsend. I cannot answer each one, but my daughter has been reading them. They give us all so much hope--
love, annie

Your prayers are so wonderful, please continue.
We have our first Dad-Mom-daughter session today at 3:30. Little bro will be home alone, please pray for him, and older sister is having huge issues with this whole thing--she, at this age, was suffering from bulemia and was in such bad shape, this is bringing it all back for her-

Thankfully our daughter likes her therapist. He is older, seasoned and has a grad student working with him who is a young lady. Talk about covering all the bases! And for some reason we were led to this therapist, and it may not be only for our daughter--but for us too.

Thank you all for the continued prayers and for all the advice and encouragement--this forum has been my only venting arena---we are still in too much shock and awe since Friday, I feel so grateful for this phamily!
love, annie

first family meeting went well, have another on Friday. We feel our family is under attack-- I know it sounds wierd, but we have had a string of strange, unsettling and stressful things happen in the past month. Our daughter (the one who is depressed) is also coming up on Confirmation. Do you think Satan's attacks are worse right before a Sacrament is received?

I absolutely do believe that satan tries the hardest when you are going to do something sacramental, or do something for our Lord. There have been several times in the past when I woke up on Sunday morning with very. .unsettling. . thoughts.

There have been times when I'm on my way to Adoration after work, and I was fine before, but as soon as I pull into the church parking lot, I'm exhausted, to the point of thinking maybe I should just go home! But I go to Adoration anyway, and those feelings pass.

Now that it's getting so close before I enter the Poor Clares, little things that didn't bother me before are now bothering me. . to the point of being a temptation. ~sighs~ I've just been praying a lot to make it through these next 44 days.

I continue to pray for you. satan is a wily lil bugger.
