I certainly hope it is a joke..
The ashes we recieve on Ash Wednesday are not a sacrament. People don't know the difference between sacraments and sacramentals. That's great catechesis! (Hint: a little sarcasm). I hope this is a joke too. I think people are always making a mockery of something so sacred to the Catholic Church by writing such carp so contrary to Church teaching. Tata126
Oh, come on, it's funny. It's not making fun of the Church, it's making fun of all those people who call themselves Catholic and don't know the first thing about Catholicism. And those people really do deserve all the ridicule they can get.
Aloysius
Hi, I am Maureen Martin,* a Catholic writer, apologist and former RCIA instructor, Catechist and advent wreath making instructor . I also used to be a cantor. Oh yeah, and I have written a weekly religion column for my local newspaper. Because of this, I felt I should create blog. You know, to save the world and all. This blog is made up of parodies and satires. For the love of God, don't come here looking for actual facts and information. It is not a place for me to poke fun at the Catholic Church or her teachings (I love the Church), but the egos of some of the blogging "celebrities" who have cropped up, and absurdities among the faithful and not so faithful. I hope to offer something to offend everyone, just like my heroes Jesus and Socrates (stolen from Peter Kreeft) Plus, I like to amuse myself. Maureen Martin? It's just a pen name. I welcome your comments. If you do comment, however, please include an email address each time or your post will be deleted. Your email address won't show up on the blog itself; just my Haloscan account. Also, if possible, keep your comments funny so the rest of us can get a laugh. Finally, be charitable.
it's all good
