Thy Geekdom Come
I was just kidding. I suppose I was the un-funny one.
Nicole8223
I think it really depends. If the situation is one that could cause someone harm if it is not corrected, than I would say you have to weigh the harm vs. the consequence of speaking up. If it won't really have an effect, then I would not say anything. Offer it up in humility. I'll pray for your discernment.
missionseeker
Just to echo what she says. If anyones soul is in danger (like if someone is cuasing them to be led astray, or whatever) you should do something.
Brother Adam
[quote name='Raphael' date='Mar 2 2006, 06:37 PM']What do you do when a person in indirect authority over you, who knows more about the subject at hand, but is at most dead wrong and at least avoiding the issue (which is a pressing one), basically tries to tell you that there is no problem at all? If I stand up for what I know is right, I'll get shut up and possibly get others in trouble and myself as well. If I don't stand up, the thing I know is wrong continues. toledo_jesus
depending on what the matter at hand is, it could be no big deal or it could be life or death. we don't know and can't give you any good advice. If you know they are wrong, and it's a big deal, then it's on your conscience. If it's not that big a deal then just let it go...unless it costs you money. God Conquers
If it is a matter where you are committing sins of ommission by avoiding bringing a wrong to the proper authorities, remedy it. If it is no big deal, then stop worrying. If you are worrying, though, that could be your conscience informing you of the proper course of action, difficult as it may be. It's probably best to leave it alone, at least until I get spurred on by other superiors who are on my side. I don't want to be a pawn, though.
