[quote name='Luthien' date='Mar 1 2006, 08:43 AM']Though I have heard that many  people who don't have the mind for Ratzinger books read Hahns books and convert to Catholicism.

 He is great at helping Protestants come back home by presenting a simple biblical understanding for difficult (to understand) Catholic doctrines.

You know, you're not supposed to stick pins in idols...those are for voodoo dolls.

Did you get that lock of Adam's hair I sent you?

Good thing I sit behind him in class.

I don't know about any relatives of Scott on here, but here is at least one person who does know him personally. Note personally, not professionally.

He would never claim to be a great scholar, nor has he as far as I know. He constantly comes up with an idea, looks into, and find it explicitly taught by the early church fathers, or bible passages that he mached up read together at Mass.

He is in no way a charismatic (in response to whoever ignorantly posted such).

He and his family don't want the fame, but it is there.
can't speak to his classes, but it should be noted that they are few, and hard to get into. The 'Hahn' worshippers who go to steubie just to take a class with him are usually disappointed.

Don't want to sir up an argument, but I will always rush to the defense of a friend.

I actually haven't read many of his books (rome sweet home is about it), but what I have heard of his theology (from his son and a professor who had taken him) is brilliantly simple.
