kamiller42
Have you ever seen that bumber sticker with Pope Benedict XVI on it that has him blessing the crowd from the balcony of the Apostolic Palace and a caption stating: "The Cafeteria is Closed". Its awesome and so are your comments.
I have to find that one. That would be great as a shirt too. You got me laughing out loud on that one. I love it!
she_who_is_not
My Episcopal church had the rosary once a week at daily mass and does Stations of the Cross every friday during lent as well as a holy hour every Thursday. They celebrate Lent very traditionally, (Ash Wed; foot washing and veneration of the cross during the Triduum) and have since founding in the early 1900's. I didn't realize that most protestant denominations don't do stuff like that until I started RCIA.

zwergel88
Yeah, I've been noticing that alot of people who aren't Catholic are giving stuff up and everything. A friend of mine who is an one of those evangelical-Protestant-pat robersonish-types even mentioned that she was going to church tonight. I was like "What? Protestants have Lent too? It gives me hope. Maybe someday, they'll just give up and come back to the Church.
DannyBoy
I "googled" 'ecumenical miracle rosary' Yesterday afternoon I sent a friendly e-mail to the creator. I questioned where his Hail Mary's were on the basis of Mary herself being the "rose". He turned out to be a very kind man who to me, seems to be on the road to conversion into the Church. He is currently Lutheran but is married to a Catholic and has seemingly found solace in the Marian Devotion of his wife and Catholic friends. His comments about his version of the rosary were such that he envisioned creating something similar to a chaplet rather than a rosary at all. He voiced that the EMR could and should never take the place of the "Most Holy Rosary" as he put it. He went as far as saying that he wished only to create something that both Catholics and protestants could share together. Seems noble to me albeit I can't understand why we always need to "change". It's about time protestants change as far as I'm concerned!!! Perhaps things like this are the first steps toward conversion! God bless Him.
The music/liturgical minister at my former (Protestant) church and his wife were at Ash Wednesday services at one of the Catholic churches downtown this week. This is the same guy who has crafted a service that's practically Catholic, nearly following the order of the Mass. They even go forward for communion most weeks, which is pretty unusual for a Protestant church. I think it's funny. They should just become Catholic. DemonSlayer
Unfortunately, it's often just Papal authority which stops them from doing that.
