YMNolan
Hey, I stumbled across this site while googling bonfires believe it or not! www.fisheaters.com They claim to be a Catholic site. At first glance it seemed legit, but when I looked at their apologetics page and specifically their link on "sola scripture" there was a fishy (pun absoulutely intended!) little statement about the hierarchy of the church that made me scratch my head. Taking a further look I noticed that they include the word "traditional" before Catholic. It's those angry pre-Vatican II people right? ...okay, I read a little more, I'm convinced this isn't any good. I got to the home page and it's calling out to people who "demand the ancient mass". very sneaky these characters.

the_rev
I'd say 90 percent of them attend an illegitimate mass offered by the SSPX. I'd say less than 10 percent attend a mass offered by legitimate orders.
jezic
the ones that i have read think that phatmass is to liberal. It is stated in the forum guidelines that one who adheres to the schism of SSPX or attends an independent chapel, ahh i will just quote it....
All traditional Catholics are welcome here -- whether they worship at so-called "indult" Masses, at Masses offered by the S.S.P.X. or other priestly fraternities, or at sedevacantist chapels. "Traditional" means not just wanting the traditional Mass, but wanting to preserve all the traditional Sacramental rites, and all of the teachings of the Church such that they are understood in the same way they were before Vatican II.
They are free to believe what they will, but i find it interesting that this is destroying the unity of the Church. It is people declaring what the truth is for themselves because they know better than the Church who was promised that the Holy Spirit would guide it. (those who are in schism at least) If God was the author, why would he destroy the Church that he established? There is a thread about phatmass there if you would like to see some good examples of how they feel.
