Our Church is the Church founded by Jesus Christ in 33 AD.

We certainly have not merited his saving graces, but he has blest us with the Truth.

WE are imperfect creatures, but the Catholic Church is not.

One Holy Catholic and Apostolic.

Hi Ryan...i am not Catholic either..if you read any of my posts you realize this...but i come because i have questions, i desire answers, i want to understand...although i may not always agree with what is said, i try to understand and be open to what others have to say.....have you asked God to open your heart and you mind?? i will be praying for you....i try to be an example by my words and my actions(of course words are what count on the internet :D )...but your heart is what God looks at...We all need to be more Christ-like....everywhere, whether or on phatmass or not, you will find arrogant, know-it-all, close-minded, etc. people, but if you respond in a negative way, it doesn't help either person....as hard as it may be...try and understand...so, i have a question for you....if you've been on since august, why did you just now join and start posting? if you have anything that would help a conversation or that enlightens someone on what you believe or what your church believes, by all means, post until your heart's content...i want to learn more about you...and what you believe and think and what your heart desires......i think we can all be a Presence to one another if we choose to be...we can all learn something from each person in here....and you know, maybe my words mean nothing, but i feel that your words so far have closed others hearts and minds to what you have to say...with that said, i do understand your frustration that you've shown in your post....but through frustration i believe we can grow as well...

Ryan, we can't help the fact that Jesus Christ came to earth, became Man, and founded a Church which just so happens to still be functioning today, following the same teachings and traditions which He taught His apostles 2000 years ago.

If you were a member of a Church founded by Christ, wouldn't you boast about it?

Why should we apologize for our zeal. Zeal for the house of the Lord consumes us!

So, you've been lurking since August....finally, welcome!!!

Hope you stick around.

But this is a Catholic place, and you'll not squash my enthusiasm, nor my love for Christ's Church.

Pax Christi. <><

Ryan,

I am sad that you have been so offended by our words that you have allowed your charity to slip away from you. As C'mom and Anna have eloquently stated, our beliefs come not from arrogance, but from Truth. If we have sinned, we are sorry, but stating that we belong to "One Holy Catholic and Apolstolic Church" is not a sin, it is not arrogance and it is not wrong. It is Truth. Many of us were called by God from Protestantism and try to be sensitive to protestants who are here to learn (such as Ellenita and Desiring More). However, do not ask or expect us to shie away from proclaiming the Truth that God has revealed to His Church.

peace...

Ryan,

If you are looking for an understanding as to where we come from in our beliefs and our zeal for our faith look to St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas.

St. Augustine in his conversion experience learned, after many years of doubting and even picking on the church at times, that Truth and truth alone comes from God, without the Truth that is God, no other intellegence or knowledge can exist.

He also acknowledges that when we run into trouble with things we say and do we do so because we are not humble about what we know and we do not know. In this case, we do know that Jesus Christ is Lord of Heaven and Earth and that it is only through him and his sacrifice on the cross that we can make it to heaven. This is the basis of the Christian faith in general.

However, one must also realize as St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas did, that if we put the focus of our inner attitudes and outer actions on ourselves rather than on God, we are eclipsing ourselves from truly seeking him out in search of the Truth that he and he alone brings. This happens everytime we sin, now I am not calling you a sinner by any means and please do not take it this way. But the point is that this is basic Christian doctrine, no matter what branch of the Christian faith you are.

Humility is much more than just keeping quite and not showing off. If one is presenting the faith honestly and in a manner that is not prideful or hateful they are acting in a perfectly humble manner. Charity requires that we be just, and would it be just not to talk about the truth. Charity towards on neighbor is rooted in the spirit of the heart, not by outward appearances to the eye.

By accusing us of needing charity and humility, you basically are drawing yourself into the temptations that Augustine and Thomas Aquinas warned us against, not placing the focus on God, but on ourselves. You also have the gift of free choice to either accept the Truth or to reject it, to accept the things said on this website or reject them, God will not force anyone to do anything they do not want to do, but rather gives us this gift to seek him out and find him for ourselves, and as I can testify and probably most people on this website can testify to. Once you find the Truth and allow the Truth of God to touch your heart in the ways only he can, your life and attitude will change, but if you cannot see God changing your life daily then maybe he is calling you to search deeper and to be more open to recieving his truth. No one can force anyone to change.

Those of us who are part of the website are who we are, we are Christians who believe in the one holy and apostolic Catholic Church and we are acknowledge Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord, and we will continue to do his apostolic work until the day we die and nothing is going to change that. This website and those who are the apologists on this site are dedicated to keeping the mission and spirit of the original 12 apostles alive and that is spread the Truth about Christ and his Church to the ends of the earth.

Don't hate us bro, because we do not hate you by any means...We just present the Truth of Christ and nothing more, whether you want to accept what we say is up to you. But as for me, I will serve the Lord will all my heart and with all of my soul, as long as there is a breath in my body.

Onward Catholic Soldiers...

Flowery you are amesome keep up the great work
