hyperdulia again
I know what you mean Don...Get an OT folks, the Father is not a big ol' cuddle-bear..it's dangerous to even mildly annoy Him.
Don John of Austria
yeah you try to tell people that... your right of course even mild irratatin can result in very unpleasent responses. But I guess as a nation we deserve whatever we get.
IXpenguin21
how come Christ was compasionate towards sinners instead of furiously angry for the most part?
Don John of Austria
The son is compasionate and merciful, the Father is a jealous God. And the son was angrey alot, look at how he talks to the Pharasee's.
IXpenguin21
i understand he talks to the pharasees in such a way to shake them from their beliefs, but to sinners, such as mary magdaline, he only shows love and mercy and forgiveness. how can one God have 2 (or more) distict messages? wouldn't the two messages counter each other? "Fear God! He will strike you down for your sin!" and then to say "Jesus loves you! He forgives all sin!" makes it really confusing. i don't want to sound like i'm debating with you guys, but i really don't understand and i'm trying to question this so i might be able to understand. Don John of Austria
Okay even the new testament says you should fear the Lord, the OT drills it in with a vengence. " fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom" The Father is like a human father, but perfectly so, He creates, He teaches, He Protects His children( evento the point of killing) and he punishes, He is God His punishments are God like in theree thoughness and scope. The Son is sbordnant to the Father( not lesser just subordnant) the Son is a redeemer, a sacraficial Lamb and a shepherd, he is firm even occasionaly violent to his flock( just like a real sshepherd) but it is for there own good, He is compasionant to contrite sinners but not to selfrightous ones he puts those in their place. In both cases He loves, the Father expresess His Love differantly than the son but I fail to see how their message is any differant " repent and reform your life" If you repent God for gives if you do not well their iss apit of eternal burning waiting for you, the Chirst isn't inclined to send you there directly but The Father might. Read the book of Acts, The father strikes two people dead in their for lieing to Peter about their donation of property. I don't think the message changes much between the two Testaments. The message can be somed up as follows " I am the Lord, I love you If you love me you will keep my commands, If you love me you will be rewarded by being in my presence, by seeing me in the face. If you do not love me then you will be cast out into the darkness for eternety, with those others who rejected me. Hold on to the Truth, hold on to your love of me, Faithfulness is rewarded, faithlessness is not."
hyperdulia again
God the Father whacked this kid in half for trying to help Him...the Arch of the Covenant was about to fall, so the High Priest's son reached up to stabilize it. God whacked him in half. Two-pieces. Yup.
