Oh I absolutely agree with that assessment. It does say much more about SD than about either party.

However, this law is intended to garner national attention and therefore garner attention from both political parties. Also dems will be watching to see how Sen Bartling's political career will be affected. If she receives contributions and support from people outside of South Dakota, it will send a strong message to other democratic representatives.
