We should be very vocal about boycotting stores that carry this. You never know, Wal-mart might just not carry it....

We should get church groups together - all denominations - who aren't afraid to come out and say to the public - Don't Shop Here they are helping to kill babies!

I mean really, selling baby poison is pretty much helping to kill babies right?

I'm so glad to see people upset over this! I also heard the FDA will most likely be making this "abortion pill" available over the counter. I went online to research it. To my shock there was little from a pro life point of view. I wrote some sites and asked them to cover the story. They say that if made available it, "could eliminate more than 50% of unintended pregnancies." Translation: 50% increase in MURDER of these precious lives. Now is the time more than ever to stand up for what we believe in.

The FDA's website is http://www.fda.gov/default.htm

If you type "morning after pill" into the search you can read letters from other people who are very concerned regarding this issue.

Let your voice be heard at FDADockets@oc.fda.gov

The manufacturer is Barr Laboratories, Inc. http://www.barrlabs.com/pages/nprpr.html

Please join me in fighting for our future.

If I see any of these on the shelves of stores I will seriously take them all and throw them in the nearest trash can. I'll try not to get caught, but if I do, it's not stealing because I won't leave the store. What would they be able to arrest me on?

I'm serious about this. If this passes, who's down to start a trend?

Hi, Dust..

I hope I have the courage to do something like this! I get scared, though.. :(

I'll have to pray for the right thing to do.

Just pretend it's the only thing to do and you will be alright. Because in all actuality it is the only thing to do! :D

We all need to be writing congress about this. I'm not sure it would do any good, but emails to your congressmen (and women) and the president couldn't do any harm.

I agree! I have written my senator and congressman about this.

Hi, Kilroy..

This was a good idea.. I wrote to Wal-Mart on their Feedback Form and asked them to not sell RU-486. I really enjoy shopping at Wal-Mart, and it would be awful if they decided to sell this abortionative!!

If anyone else wants to write Wal-Mart, here's the form:

God bless!

I'm amazed it's even being considered as being OK to sell over the counter. It's incredibly strong and has been promoted in the UK for use only in emergency situations and most definately not as general contraceptive.

The comments in this thread about women being 'selfish *******', rape and incest being cop out excuses, and how about close your legs, astound me! What about empowering young women so that they can say no when the men in their lives put pressure on them to have sex. It takes two people to get a woman pregnant - how about persuading the men to take some responsibility too!

i think if we voice our concern over this, they will listen.

Dead teen may have taken abortion pill

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Authorities are investigating the death of an 18-year-old San Francisco area woman who died after reportedly taking the abortion pill RU-486.

Monty Patterson, the victim's father, told The San Francisco Chronicle that his daughter, Holly. had gotten a prescription for RU-486 at a Planned Parenthood office in Hayward on Sept. 10 to end her seven-week pregnancy. He said he did not know his daughter, who lived with him, was pregnant until hours before her death.

Patterson said Holly was crying, bleeding and in such pain she could not walk on Sunday. Her boyfriend took her to a hospital where she was given painkillers and released.

"She went back into the hospital in the middle of the night Wednesday, and she died at 2 p.m.," Patterson said. "The doctor told me that she hadn't aborted all of the fetus, and she had fragments left in her, and she had a massive systemic infection and went into septic shock."

this drug is murder to both mother and baby. it works by attacking the entire endocrine system to kill the unborn baby.

Your right it takes two to make a baby but only one to kill it;men have NO rights in the matter what so ever. As long as all the power of killing a child rest with the women so does all the responsability.

I don't agree! This just allows men to absolve any responsibility they might have in getting women pregnant and live with the consequences, which in turn often results in women reluctantly having an abortion. It's men who rape, and rape isn't about sex, it's about power.

I also personally know of one situation where a woman was forced to have an abortion by her husband because he didn't want to have a child. She was so disempowered in the relationship that it would never have crossed her mind to question what her husband was saying she had to do. She never received any counselling before it happened which might just have made her realise the reality of what was happening and enabled her to stop it.

Young girls are also often forced by their parents to have an abortion.

It's too simple to always blame the woman. Life is never that clear cut.

And please understand that I'm not arguing pro abortion or this pill! It's appalling that it was given to a woman who was seven weeks pregnant (in the article Littleflower posted). I thought it was originally designed to be given as soon as possible since it is an emergency pill - seven weeks pregnant certainly doesn't qualify and is a perfect example of how it will be abused if it allowed to be sold over the counter. People need to know how dangerous it is if they are to make informed decisions.
