I do not think China would hesitate to fight the U.S. if we were perceived as treading on their supremacy. I remember hearing back in the 80's that people thought Gog and Magog to be Russia and China. The Chinese consider everyone else innately inferior. The Japanese think this way too. Probably a lot of other nations also. I don't think China has any interest in our dirt, or in antagonizing us. Basically if it is war, and it likely will be, the entire globe will not come out the same. No population centers, billions dead, no "world" economy.
