My mom's best friend's mother is dying. She began to get very ill yesterday (after cancer reappeared) and has been given less than 24 hours. Her name is Jaunita. Please pray for her, pham! ((She is Catholic and will hopefully be receiving communion very soon.))

Here is the email my mom just sent out to her CRHP group...
I just received  a call from my best friend whose mom was diagnosed w/lymphoma.  The doctors just told them that she had 24 - 48 hrs to live.  The kids from the Philiipines are on their way, but it takes 24 hrs to get here.  Please pray that this family finds peace w/whatever happens and that their mom is in no pain.

Their mom's name is Juanita Uy.  She is aware of her situation and has asked to receive communion and the rite of the sick.  In light of all of this, she still has her sense of humor.  She told her grandson just tonight that he needs to be "a good boy".  Please pray for peace and comfort for this family.

Thanks, Rosanna
I must also mention that her husband is not taking any of this very well. I know that there really is no easy way to handle this but he has taken a very mentally unhealthy approach to handling this and is also in need of our prayers.

Thank you pham! This really means a lot to me, my mom, and their whole family.

Oh Laura,

Please give your Mom a big hug for me. Is your Mom Catholic? Sometimes knowing that they will be united each time they are at mass receiving the eucharist can be a comfort for those of us left here.

I was in this same situation in 2004 with my father. He waited for me to get home and died less than 24 hours after I arrived. Things like this are never easy, and the waiting is often worse than the actual death. :sign:

I will continue to pray for you and your intentions. My stepmother died of Leukemia last Easter Sunday. So, I know how that goes. They thought she was in remission. After the re-diagnosis, she lived about a month or so. I know about fast departures.

God bless you during this time of need.

That was a lot like this. We are very close to this family. I must say we have seen too many of our close friends be taken by cancer. I hate cancer. My friend was left at age 16 when her mom, and my parents's mutual best friend whom they had taken care of for months, was taken from her by this awful disease.
