missionseeker
now excitement has worn off and the hard cold reality of being a jobless-potential-future-college-student-right-now-when-i-need-to-make-a-bunch-of-deposits-for-housing-and-such has set in. I'm not too worried about long term stuff, it's the immediate stuff that I'll need in the next couple of months. (if I decide to go) besides the money for the school, there's a lot things that I'd need to get and a few that I really really want to get (but they can wait like a clarinet of my own, the one I've been using for 7 years is not mine). So please pray for and my family, that we (haha, mostly my parents) can find some way to pay for everything that I'll NEED (not want) because my older sister decided to stay here and take classes for a year and so we'll both be leaving at the same time. I am going to (try and) get a job so please pray for that as well. Thanks again, Pham Catherine

missionseeker
UPDATE- if anyone is interested. I got a $7000/year scholarship from Benedictine. Toady, I went to Southern Catholic. It seems Orthodox. The chaplain was last at Magdalen College and his favorite author is Chesterton. There was something that happened that is kind of weird/funny/odd/coincidental.... (But first you have to know that I applied to start a Gregorian chant choir and I haven't heard anything at all back.) During the tour the guide asked if we had any questions about the diferent clubs and I asked if the choir sang chant (I had no idea whether they did or not when I applied) and he said "They're working on it" Then after it was over,I talked to the direstor of admissions and asked when I'd hear something, I'll know by the end of the month. But I also talked to the theology professor(from Ave Maria in Michigan) to see if he appproved all student led Spiritual activites, which he does. Then I talked to the vice president of student affairs because I cook a lot and there are no stoves or anything in the dorms (or villas) I asked her if there was a stove anywhere on campus that students could use. She actually hatched some idea right there to get acces to a stove for students. Then she said VPSA"So you cook. What else do you do?" ME"Music" V"Do you play the organ" M"No, I'm hoping to get lessons soon." V"Can you learn by September?" M"I don't know, I've played piano for 10 years so I have some background." -Mom-"She also plays clarinet and has studied Gregorian chant for about 5 years." VP- "And you applied for a Fellowship with that?" M" Yes Ma'am VP" Yes, I remember reading that one." Then she starts talking about how the process was a long one and they have to decide what's best for the school................yada yada yday Then she went to talk to the theology professor. (Dr. Bowring)
I have a Benedictine College t-shirt.
Now I have a Southern Catholic shirt. missionseeker
I'm pretty sure that I'm going to go to SCC in the Fall. I wasn't planning on going anywhere at all this fall because I'll only be 17 or just turned 18. I was going to stay here and take classes at the Community college. This all happened in about three weeks. It's just now starting to sink in.

God the Father
What a coincidence! I got an acceptance letter yesterday. Mine was an admission into Captain Napalm's secret superhero circle. I knew saving all those UPC's would pay off!
