Gays to protest Flyn Mass

I shouldn't include this but am going to. This parish needs to be shut down. This was in the St. Joan of Arc parish bulletin.

Here is the excerpt from the February 5th St. Joan of Arc Bulletin: World Marriage Sunday: Next Sunday, Feb. 12 is a celebration of World Marriage Sunday. On the 12th, we will have postcards available outside the gym entrances to send to MN state senators with your message regarding the proposed "Minnesota Marriage Amendment." Also, you are invited to attend a rally on the 12th sponsored by Catholics for Equality at 12:30 on the steps of the Cathedral. This is a peaceful rally prayerfully calling upon Archbishop Flynn to withdraw his support for the amendment.

Operative words on the postcards being “…with your message…” {italics added}

[quote name='jezic' date='Feb 12 2006, 06:03 PM']what is strange is that if Catholics tried to block entrances of something like abortion clinics they would probably be thrown in jail. Kind of shows the double standard of society.

True. You know things are messed-up when abortion clinics are treated as being more sacred than churches.

Wow. :ohno:

If Archbishop Flynn needs to withdraw anything, it is St. Joan of Arc's pastor(s). Any pastor who would allow something like this to be published in his parish's bulletin is clearly unfit for duty.

they're refusing to let people go to Mass? I thought they were just handing out pamphlets..

either way, it's still a sacrelige

Why can't we hit people anymore? Life would be so much easier if you could just tell someone to shut up and then HIT them. I don't think there's anything anti-Christian about hitting people who trash the Faith.

Can't people find something better to do, like, idk, write an essay about how they feel rather than protest,, in the most sacred act this side of Heaven?

Ash Wednesday

Oh, I'm sure that some people out there resembling a Catholic version of the Hitler Youth will call me "un-Catholic" for saying this, but I find the suggestions of implied "gay bashing" and calls to violent retaliation to be really out of line, and I honestly can't believe what I'm reading. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I am not sure how this kind of response is the way to go about making the situation any better.

No wonder people view the Church the way they do. Granted, some people take doctrine wrongly as a personal offense, but this kind of response seems to give opponents more to run on.

I truly find it hard to be afraid of British people. Something about the accent. It doesn't lend itself to a hardcore image.

:idontknow: :rolleyes:

it's more like jerk-bashing. If a straight guy did this I'd want to punch him too. There's no discrimination, don't worry. :lol:
But I have this theory that the whole "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" can be applied to charitable correction. "punching me will get me to shut up but politely explaining why I'm wrong will only encourage me to shout louder."
