Myles Domini
haha! I'd love to, I just don't know when I'll have time.. The Aquinas reading list in the apologetics board is pretty good.
Tis indeed :
Pio Nono
JMJ 2/11 - Our Lady of Lourdes
well maybe I'm biased, but I would put the Franciscan Christology text near the top of the list. As far as the Theology of the Roman Catholic Church goes, I consider the Franciscan doctors to have had the most profound Christological insight. Patristically speaking I'd say the Greek Fathers are the bomb.
Thanks for the booklist, but being an unabashed Thomist I think I'm forced to disagree in a brotherly way. And yeah, understanding the heresies is key to understanding Christology. Knowing what not to believe makes it much easier to grasp onto what we should believe. Pio Nono
JMJ 2/13 - Sixth Monday Oh yeah - prayers ~7pm CST would be appreciated. Man, I don't know about this one... I just hope I don't laugh when I have to talk about vicarious penal substitution (it's 'cause I'm mature).
Pio Nono
JMJ 2/13 - Sixth Monday Just got done with the test; thanks, all, for the prayers. I was chided because I was too "Thomistic" and "Scholastic", and that doesn't cut it in the "post-conciliar Church"...though I did fine on the test. I guess that mindset doesn't jive with my Christology prof, whose theology is much less scholastic and much more...Protestant...being a former Calvinist minister and all. :
