I did a search for available names and here are some suggestions.

ourcatholicspace.com
acatholicspace.com
myromancatholicspace.com
vaticanspace.com
myvaticanspace.com
catholiccrib.com
mycatholiccrib.com
phatmassspace.com
phatmassplace.com

I kind of like that last one.

I just spoke with my spiritual advisor on this matter. He told me that we have to make sure it retains a Catholic identity, but the name of the site doesn't have to be a specifically Catholic name. It's cool to be welcoming to non-Catholics, but at the same time, we must make it clear that it's a Catholic site and have to be careful not to allow content that is contradictory to our faith.

Good advice.

[quote name='dUSt' date='Feb 9 2006, 04:51 PM']Okay, the question of evangelizing is coming up in my brain now...

Would a Protestant feel comfortable creating a page on MyCatholicSpot.com or PopeSpace.com? Are we focusing on creating a purely Catholic site, or an all-inclusive site that would have heavy Catholic influence?

What would be better for the church? That is the question.

If a purely Catholic site is what we want, then MyCatholicSpot.com would be the obvious choice. If we want to be more inclusive, then I think Soulburbs.com is the way to go...

I guess I wasn't seeing it as an evangelization tool per se. At least to protestants. I was thinking its primary evangelization would be to Catholics. "Take ownership of your faith and display it proudly" kind of thing. Then those who were not Catholic would be evangelized to by the witness of it.

Of course I can't crawl into your your head. (Flashbacks of "Being Jon Malkevitch)

But for whatever its worth, I think having it as an evangelization tool for Catholics is an awesome idea
