Yeah, I understand what you all are saying But I disagree.... I know it sounds stupid. It's just really hard to explain.

You don't have to kiddo. Jesus already has that covered!

think purgatory, not hell.

nothing good can come of eternal damnation, because it is eternal. if you went to hell, your suffering would never end. the Justice of God would never permit that, and in His right ordering of the world He leaves no possibility that that could ever even be the "good" option.

desiring to suffer to spare others from suffering, however, is noble. just keep it in the temporal plane... the eternal plane is out of bounds in the game of desiring to suffer for the sake of others.

Ash Wednesday

Yup. God doesn't will anyone to choose the incomprehensible pain of his absense, which is what hell is -- the absence of God. For you to want to take someone else's place in hell is still a loss -- not just for you, but a painful one for God.

I would almost venture to say that in hell, souls are incapable of having any desire to perform any completely selfless sacrificial act for another, as hell is a state completely devoid of love. What's more, a soul that is in hell would be incapable of appreciating any such selfless acts. People in hell freely choose to be there. Concepts of remorse or forgiveness, because of hardness of heart or despair, are absent in hell. If you offered to take someone's place in hell, they would probably curse you and spit in your face.

So in a sense, the kind of sacrifice and bargaining you would feel a desire for is impossible.

Now, Purgatory, on the other hand, is the right way to go as Aloysius mentioned. Victim souls work for other souls in Purgatory.

photosynthesis

or you could just offer up your daily struggles and sufferings for the souls you feel compassion for in a spirit of reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
