WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein told his Cabinet in the mid-1990s that the U.S. would fall victim to terrorists possessing weapons of mass destruction but that Iraq would not be involved, tapes released Saturday at an intelligence summit reveal.

Hussein also can be heard speaking with high-ranking Iraqi officials about deceiving United Nations inspectors looking into Iraq's weapons program, which his son-in-law, Lt. Gen. Hussein Kamel, oversaw.

The tapes, which U.S. officials have confirmed are authentic, are part of a much larger cache of information on the nation's weapons programs. Six translators listened to the recordings for CNN.
A top Pentagon official who was responsible for tracking Saddam Hussein's weapons programs before and after the 2003 liberation of Iraq, has provided the first-ever account of how Saddam Hussein "cleaned up" his weapons of mass destruction stockpiles to prevent the United States from discovering them.

"The short answer to the question of where the WMD Saddam bought from the Russians went was that they went to Syria and Lebanon," former Deputy Undersecretary of Defense John A. Shaw told an audience Saturday at a privately sponsored "Intelligence Summit" in Alexandria, Va. (www.intelligencesummit.org).

"They were moved by Russian Spetsnaz (special forces) units out of uniform, that were specifically sent to Iraq to move the weaponry and eradicate any evidence of its existence," he said.

Shaw has dealt with weapons-related issues and export controls as a U.S. government official for 30 years, and was serving as deputy undersecretary of defense for international technology security when the events he described today occurred.

He called the evacuation of Saddam's WMD stockpiles "a well-orchestrated campaign using two neighboring client states with which the Russian leadership had a long time security relationship." more...
Why would Russia help Saddam move the WMD's?

Because of the oil for food program scandal, and other things we'll never know.
Media Ignore Saddam's Uranium Bombshell

Tape recordings released over the weekend show that Saddam Hussein had an active nuclear weapons program at least as recently as 2000 - but the press has decided the bombshell development isn't newsworthy.

Speaking at the Intelligence Group Summit in Arlington, Va., Saddam tapes translator Bill Tierney revealed that in one recorded conversation, the Iraqi dictator can be heard discussing a plan to enrich uranium using a technique known as plasma separation.

Though U.S. weapons inspectors found that 1.8 tons of Saddam's 500 ton uranium stockpile had been partially enriched, they failed to turn up any evidence of an ongoing enrichment program.

Instead, Iraq Survey Group Chief Charles Duelfer concluded that Baghdad terminated its nuclear weapons program no later than 1995.

News that Saddam had an ongoing enrichment program comports with the account of Dr. Mahdi Obeidi, the nuclear physicist who ran Iraq's nuclear centrifuge program.
After turning himself in to U.S. forces in July 2003, Dr. Obeidi revealed that he had successfully hidden centrifuge parts and blueprints from U.N. weapons inspectors on Saddam's orders.

Despite the staggering implications of the audiotaped uranium revelation, only one mainstream media outlet had covered the news as of Monday morning.

Noting that Saddam's enrichment program was "totally unknown to U.N. weapons inspectors," the Washington Times editorialized on Monday: "It is apparent that the American public has much more to learn about . . . . precisely when Saddam's nuclear weapons programs actually stopped."
Why would media ignore this? They did ignore reports from the UN about WMD proofs during the war.

Why?

Because they do not care about the truth and want you to hate Bush.

Why would they want you to hate Bush?

Because they are crazy liberals who lie to get their way. They hate God, they hate the Church...

When we listen to a resource, we must look for motive to lie... then look for opposite views and try to find unbias view... we must get the facts then decide... why do some democrats and liberals fail to understand this basic concept of logic is beyond me. The democrat party (as in senators, govenors, hollywood, new york) are evil and they hate the Church... they hate anyone who aknowledges God... they love to embrace their sin and corruption... they build their campaigns on lies and change their views based on who is listening.

Why Catholics would want to be counted with that I do not think I'll ever understand. When everything the democrat national agenda pushes is against the Catholic Church teachings.

Someone here will obviously try to throw welfare into this arguement but they would be wrong to do so because the democrat agenda for welfare produces dependancy... Catholic teaching is that welfare should reduce dependancy... not create it. One has to know human nature to answer this question. Help for the poor is a must, help for the lazy is stupid. This also is not about who is to choose or how to do it. This is a simple fact... democrat welfare goes against Catholic teachings.

Republican does not. They do not cut plans. A reduction in a scheduled increase IS NOT a reduction. Giving tax cuts to businesses that have expanded DOES create jobs. Simple facts.

I don't care what anybody says. From this day forward ALL can see what liberal thought does to the media mind:

"Has the Vice President considered offering his resignation?"

This was asked because of a hunting accident. A hunting accident. Someone needs to get a life.

NO! HE'S A SINISTER BUSINESS MAN! HE'S INVOLVED WITH AN EVIL OIL COMPANY!

HE"S REALLY DARTH VADER!

Yeah! He's a sinister business man... eveyone knows that business men are selfish and greedy, they are only good for jobs. Imagine, if we didn't have to deal with business men, we could all farm again and we'd all be equal, except for our leaders, but they deserve to be rich since they lead us so well and teach us to hate the rupublicans based on out of context quotes and lies. It just shows that they have a different perspective because they don't take into account everything the republicans say and do, only what benefits them... this also shows what creative individuals they are.

lol

It boggles my mind brother - their thought (or lack of) process.
