Good taste: Lifeteen or Pluggedin

A long while back my parents got me this magazine called "Pluggedin" magazine. Its a publication through Focus of the Family. It reviews movies and cds. I stopped receiving the magazine, but I occasionally look at their website for reviews.

I also check lifeteen's website for reviews. Some of the time they have contrasting thinking relating to certain cds. Here are some examples:

Beck: Guero

Beck: Guero

Pluggedin most of the time is more critical. Lifeteen is more liberal(as a opposed to Pluggedin).

Pluggedin is also Protestant...site example of the review of Millions...Millions review

Any thoughts?

I wouldn't....without a discerning mind.

Sometimes they are bit overboard....Lifeteen on the other hand is too loose.

I'm not surprised...

I don't think it's a matter of being too liberal or conservative...

You have 2 entirely different individuals giving a review of an album...

Mrs. Bro. Adam

Simply: Pluggedin: Extremely Protestant. Geared towards and for Protestants.

Lifeteen: Catholic: Geared towards Catholic highschoolers.

Only downside to the program is that it's charismatic...course, that's only a downside if you're not charismatic.

Being traditional, which means 'orthodox' at phatmass and your own personal preference for spiritual devotion are two separate things. A person can have a very non-charasmatic spriituality and there is nothing wrong with that, but it would make it difficult if your youth group thought there was something wrong with you when you did not want to participate in charasmatic events. However, being orthodox is another story altogether as it is more about 'doctrine' not 'discipline' or in this case 'devotion'.

Hey guys, keep in mind JP2 did give his approval to the charsimatic movement, insisting that it was good for the Church. They may have some issues, but so does the "traditional" movement. But it is possible to be charismatic and an orthodox Catholic.

LifeTeen tends to be a little shallow, but most of the ones that go to the web site are pretty cool, and a lot of them try really hard to get Catholics that are not faithful to the magisterium to embrace orthodoxy, which, in some ways phatmass kind of can fail to do. The organization of it is insane though, and it's hard to get to know people, have a discussion because of it. Never checked out plugged in.

Eh...you slept next to a man and your wife didn't have a problem with it. I gotta give ya props for that!

Do you think I should get Phatmassers who like RighteousB to give shout-outs for him? ;)
