Guest someone
i think i may have broken the fasting rule.... i ate dinner then went to a mass. I know it was an hour before I actually received the Sacred Host, but not an hour before Mass. Does the fasting rule apply to 1 hour before Mass starts, or 1 hour before the consecration? was it a mortal sin?
cappie
One hour BEFORE HOLY COMMUNION. To knowing and willingly break the fast of one hour BEFORE Holy Communion is a serious sin. If it's a few minutes, because the priest is a bit quick then there is no harm. It is best to be on the safe side and fast for 1 hour before the Mass that way at least you are sure.
