Azriel
oops I wasn't yelling I just didn't know Caos lock was on. I REALLY think we should have a formal definition of what is acceptable. Dude - its been done, check the Phorum Guidelines link at the top of the page.
Don John of Austria
I see no referance to rated G in the phorum guidelines.
Azriel
All rated G means is that there are underage visitors here ... if you wouldn't want your underage child, neice, nephew etc ... to see it ... don't post it. G rated means the things that are said in the phorum guidelines, no vulgarity ... etc etc. As far as thought police, inDeed and I are only two people. There is no way we can read everything. So, it would be impossible to police every post. We can either set up a myriad of rules and regs that actually do stifle discussion ... or we can rely on everyone to use common sense. If you gotta problem with a certain Mediator of Meh, take it up with them or dUSt. EDIT: inDeed called it G-rated before the Phorum Guidelines were written. In the Phorum Guidelines it states content as Mature: Mature Content - a post or comment that has a subject matter not appropriate for underage visitors. The moderators will be asked to use good judgement, so please use common sense. Note: This should not be confused with theological or intellectual restrictions--this guideline only applies to the subject--not the level of discussion. Don John of Austria
I'm still worried and it's not really about you or Indeed, but more about all this "reporting" it seems to me it will stifle discussion.

Well ... tell ya what. We've always been able to report posts, and they went directly to Dust. Now, we get the notifications. I can only say that just because something is reported, doesn't necessarily mean it will moved. Its still up to us to use good judegment. I, for one, am going to try my hardest to not let that happen. As with any new thing, time will tell.
Ellenita
Um....sorry to be a pain but G-rated means nothing to those of us who don't live in the US! And 'underage' means different ages in different countries.... BUT, I can cope with common sense and decency! :D I hope!
inDEED
I'm still worried and it's not really about you or Indeed, but more about all this "reporting" it seems to me it will stifle discussion. My focus will really only be on YOUR posts, Don John... Consider THIS an ammendment to my previous post regarding "G-Rated" as this seems to have really caused quite an uproar. ALL POSTS IN THE OPEN MIC PHORUM SHALL NOT CONTAIN: Mature Content - a post or comment that has a subject matter not appropriate for underage visitors. If anyone has a question as to whether or not a post is okay for the OPEN MIC, e-mail it to me first and I'd be happy to look it over and let ya know! Thanks!
