I got a daily roman missal for my birthday and am so excited. There's one problem though... I've read the front where it says "how to use this missal" but am still confused. Can anyone give me some "how to use the missal for dummies" version please?! Thanks! :book:

2/11 - Our Lady of Lourdes

disturbedxfairy,

Though I don't know what Missal you're talking about, there are some regular places to put your ribbons so you can mark your place. Try these -

(1) Ordinary of the Mass - this starts out with things like "In the Name of the Father..."
(2) Daily propers - These are the prayers proper to the day; for instance, tomorrow's propers would be the different prayers for the Sixth Sunday of Ordinary Time.
(3) Daily readings - Readings proper to the day; for instance, tomorrow's readings would be for the Sixth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year B.
(4) Eucharistic Prayers - you can easily flip to the one you need.
(5) Proper of Saints - Prayers proper to particular memorials. For instance, the next one is for Sts. Cyril and Methodius (Feb. 14).
(6) Common of Saints - The particular common goes with the particular saint; for instance, on 14 Feb., the common you need would be the Common of Pastors with particular prayers for bishops.

They usually have pre- and post-Communion prayers, and those are always good to mark. Hope this helps.

Yours,
Pio Nono
