St. John the Baptist (see my avatar)

Definitely take the time to prayerfully make your decision. You'd be surprised how it could affect you. John's influence has taken my life in directions I wouldn't have expected. :)

Yes, and I picked St. Raphael for silly reasons, but I find myself poor, in love, and travelling frequently, which are three of his patronages! He has been a great help.

Peter. I've always liked the rock though I must admit I'm unfortunately only really good at imitating his less admirable traits (running away, denying, lying, etc.), . He's a good model though and I'll keep trying.

St. Peter rocks my socks.

I also like St. Paul, St. Louis IX, St. Francis (how could a guy NOT love St. Francis?), St. Thomas Becket, St. Thomas More, St. Joseph, St. Thomas, St. James, St. Pio, St. John Vianney, and St. John Bosco.

Dont mean to hijack.
Can a woman choose a man as a confirmation name?
Personally, I am finding that I really like Cure of Ars. But this isnt about me.
I know some women who have chosen men as their confirmation saint but I wasnt sure if it was right.

I now un-hijack this thread.

Carry on men.

I would think so.

Many nuns take male saints as their religious names.

Yes, and usually they choose the femine counter part.

Patrick is my Confirmation name.

Since then I've found St. John Vianney, St. Francis of Assisi, and St. Bonaventure to be some inspiring people as well.

I am thinking about Norbert.

Thanks,

Cool, Norbert, just like the dragon from Harry Potter.

I chose Patrick, as he's the patron saint of engineers.

St. Joseph of Cupertino is my confirmation Saint :D: My story's kinda like Raphael's. I picked him cause he's the patron saint of astronauts, but the more I read about his life the more I see we have in common. Not to mention he's the patron of students taking a test which is something I so sorely need right now.
