zunshynn
This is actually about Anglicans, but I didn't know who I ought to ask. What is the difference between High Church and Low Church among Anglicans? Are they in communion with each other? And is there anything that parallels it in the Catholic Church? cappie
Anglicanism - the faith and doctrine and practice of the Anglican Church Evangelicalism or "Low Church" - the theological system emphasising the Protestant tradition Anglo-Catholicism, High Anglicanism - a doctrine and practice within the Church of England emphasizing the Catholic tradition The two different traditions exist uneasily beside one another as a part of history. One emphasising the theology and liturgy of the reformers and the other emphasising the theology and liturgy closely aligned with the Orthodox or Catholic Faith There is no real equivqalent in the Catholic Church although liturgically you might say Catholic Churches that use Incense, solemn music etc might go near to High Church .
