Church Punk
I didnt really watch it last night, but I heard some of the films that won awards and it seems to be a common trend that they depict homosexual behavior or gender change. I guess I havent noticed that the shift in society trends has been this drastic. I guess I'll just keep in my little corner of the woods and not watch TV anymore. It will just piss me off. Need more Adoration!

photosynthesis
I watched the Golden Globes last night. They had the cast of Will & Grace come onstage to present the award for Best TV Show. They were taking about the essential components of a good TV show. It went something like, "good dialogue, talented actors, lots of money, and gay people." jezic
it seems like this is the direction that hollywood wants to go. It is a very wrong one, but people are "pushing" it by going to see movies like brokeback mountain and others that push the limits. It seems to be a way that satan operates, just push the envelope a little at a time.... then every so often really push it and prepare for the backlash (but secretly advance the line a ways when that happens because people will think, ohh this isn't as bad as that ONE show....) track2004
Okay so I didn't see the Golden Globes nor do I have a TV, but 5 awards went to qwerty* movies, and 19 didn't. I'm just getting this from their site HFPA. Most of the qwerty ones were movies, not TV. So I don't know, Brokeback Mountain was a very good story and it had all the good technical aspects a movie should, even if you don't agree with the content. I didn't see Transameria, but I think it is playing here in a few weeks. *I don't mean to offend by using the word 'qwerty', but to have a catch all word for any 'alternate' sexuality, be it homosexual, transgender, or anything else. **Looks like PhatMass changes the word anyway. Whatever. Edited January 17, 2006 by track2004
God the Father
A lot of people in California are gay. I think anyway. Certainly not the majority of people in the state, but I think California probably has the most gay people in ratio to the rest of the population? Or maybe just the most gay people in number, but considering the state has the highest population in the Union that wouldn't really be conclusive. Anyway, assume there is a high concentration of gay people in California in proportion to the rest of the United States. Considering Hollywood is in California, and just about most of these award shows are in California, it stands to reason that the people in California with access to mediums to reach people across the nation would want to remove much of the stigma from "gay" and make it okay. Not to say that it isn't okay to be gay, but many people(I'd guess) are uncomfortable with progressing gay rights to the point of, say, marriage. Not to mention that California is predominately liberal to begin with. California wants you to stop being against increasing gay rights in the government. I think. Good try though Anyways, I gotta agree with ChurchPunk, I never held any of those awards any form of respect because I didn't really keep up with it. But after this one, its not even feasible. Its pretty sad how bad their pressing their agenda, and then there's hollywood saying "Lets add a tiera while we're at it!" The Media is pretty wack, and only getting worse....too bad so many ppl watch it.

It is the propoganda, filling the minds of people, subtly introducing un-pure thoughts, pushing the envelope as Jezic said. Its a constant battle, you can not even watch a TV program that will not lead to some sort of temptation these days especially for us guys! If i feel the need to relax and watch TV I usually resort to the discovery channel but even that has been infiltrated, one night they were doing a study on nudism and every actor on the show was naked! There is no escape accept to stop watching TV
peacenluvbaby
Why don't you same people protest when "Titanic" or straight, though not married, sex/love is depicted? Are we just going to be mad at "hollywood" for showing gays? What about violence (The Patriot, Braveheart) straight sex (almost any movie at all esp. comedy) incest (Gladiator) theft (Oceans 11)....Come on people - we've got to be "all or nothing" on morality....So are all those movies bad...or just ones that have gays? Peace and love to you all!!!
