y'all are so lucky... I wish my college offered those kinds of classes... it was all liberation theology and feminist theology so I kept my distance from the religion department

1/16 - Second Sunday

What text are you using for Christology?  We're (thankfully) using a good one - Jesus Christ: Principles of Christology by Roch Kereszty.  I feel as if I will have to teach myself, so I need other sources to read besides him.  Ideas?

Hmm.. For some reason I'm having a mental block and I can't quite remember the title of my favourite Christology text.
Here are a couple of book ideas anyway:

Franciscan Christology, by Damian McElrath
The Hidden Center, by Zachary Hayes
Christology : A Biblical, Historical, and Systematic Study of Jesus Christ, by Gerald O'Collins
Behold the Pierced One, by Ratzinger
On the Unity of Christ, by St. Cyril
On the Incarnation, by St. Athanasios
Christ in Eastern Christian Thought, by Meyendorff
The Christological Controversy, by Norris
On the Cosmic Mystery of Jesus Christ, by St. Maximos

Hah, do you have Fr. Frinsko? He kept referring to Kasper's text in our course as well as Raymond Brown. We used another author as our official text, but it wasn't much better.

I second Ratzinger's "Behold the Pierced One". It's a great book! :)

<_<

The first class I had with her was really good, the second one was... borderline heterodox (IMHO).

Just a heads-up, O'Collins is a shifty character. His Fundamental Theology is heterodox in parts, and his Christology is shifty as well.

Sirilla was really good for Christology. I've heard Patee is good too. But I guess it's too late so nevermind. I would take a course with Frinsko or White simply for the exercise of debating. :hehehe:
