dUSt
I work for an airline. I've heard that if you give your baby some Benadryl (sp?) before a flight, it'll help them relax and behave. I'm all for it. What about y'all?
hyperdulia again
We give Ashley benadryl when it's like ten at night (right now) and she comes out of her room for the fifth time for a glass of water. It's evil I know, but everyone can't have good parents.

Anna
Each time Ashley comes out for a drink of water, make her use the bathroom*, then repeat her bedtime prayers... Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. Amen. It'll make her sleepy, and develop a healthy, holy routine. *I say this cuz if my kids had 5 glasses of water at bedtime, they'd be wetting the bed! hyperdulia again
she doesn't actually drink it. she sips and spits it back into the cup---repeatedly.
Carrie
I'm with dUSt. Sometimes kids are impossible. My old pediatrician used to tell my mom to give it to one of my sisters who never wanted to go to bed. Worked like a charm. Mom didn't do it often, just when it was really important that she get to sleep. Even parents need a lil help.
dUSt
Yeah. And other passengers need peace.
Carrie
This brings up another question... Anyone ever use the old "a lil liqour on the teething gums" routine? Just curious if it actually works.
hyperdulia again
i've never heard of that, but gin/beer in the formula does (alabama's crazy!) Edited July 22, 2003 by hyperdulia again

IcePrincessKRS
One of my philosophy professors gave his son a tablespoon of whiskey when the child had some ailment or other--wouldn't go to sleep, something I forget now. Whatever it was it worked like a charm, but the next night the kid asked for more!
Carrie
well this has nothing to do with drugging your kids, but my grandma had a great way of getting us to go to bed. She'd threaten to take out her false teeth and chase us with them if we didn't go to bed. That was SO scary, we were happy to oblige!
