Homestarlover85
lol....i got impatient..and kept clink add reply....my browser was moving really slow.... let me just mention how i was planning to tie in harry potter...this is not the full outline, but oh well the talk is about the portrait of jesus in the gospels....If you know harry potter...this might make sense..if it doesnt...then tell me too!... (keep in mind this is just a few line outline...i am working on another one...and the talk will be more detailed than both... Matt- Portrays Jesus as a teacher, teaching the multiudes about the Lords prayer, the beatitudes- Just how Hermione might portray Hogwarts for example..or maybe dumbledore Mark- Harry, because you know, matthew and luke are based on mark and without harry...hermione and ron wouldnt be doing what they do.. Luke- Luke gives a lot of backstory, like nativity jazz...other stuff...and drops a lot of names LIKE RON who knows the wizarding world best John- Neville, not exactly part of the trio, just like John who isnt one of the Synoptics...and he aproaches christ in a different way, theological way... well yea thats a quick summary..but its unraveling in my minds eye..so please help

SheepAmongWolves
Eh... you're taking a chance with that one. It may work or it may not. You're taking a risk with that. I listened to a speaker who tried to connect the gospel message with Spongebob, and it was a flop. My aproach would be to take a saint that's had a really tough time, but don't reveal right away that it is a saint. Or don't do that that if you don't want to. Be real about it, connect life to the gospels and their messege. The fact is Harry Potter is a fantasy story, and you don't want to make the Gospels sound like a fantasy. You don't want to make them to be something that sounds nice, but isn't real. Feel free to ignore my I might be totally wrong. I love that painting. Salvador Dali usually isn't my favorite, but I really like that one. Unless I got confused and it isn't one of Dali's. missionseeker
you maybe should/could have a picture of a Crucifix visible I say picture because they tend to be more gory than a Crucifix is. And the gorrier the more hard hitting

SheepAmongWolves
Oh wow that is a challenge, not to make it boring to people who aren't interested. I would say brainstorm a bit and try and find another idea. Focus on your strenghts, if you're funny use that, if you're talented musically use that, whatever your strenghts may be. Above all: Don't go over too long. If you make it too long interest will be lost regardless.
