cmotherofpirl
I've never really thought about tickling in a sexual way... I've always just viewed it as innocent fun, but now I guess I can kinda see why some of my friends get uncomfortable. Tickling is a form of intimacy, in fact it can be great foreplay. It can be an early stage of sexual contact between males and females. That is why it can feel uncomfortable for people. We see it a lot at youth group. kids trying to tickle each other, its a form of innocent ( usually ) touching. We call it happy hormones. THats how we figure out who is interested in who. Now if we were to directly ask the kid involved "do you like this person" they would deny it and probably blush, but they are definitely interested. It is similar to the poking/smacking. high fiving boys do to their friends, but that seems to be simultaneously friendship, pecking order, and general teasing in a non-threatening, non-sexual way. geetarplayer
Mark, You should really have a regular confessor, or spiritual director to help you with this. Bring it into the light, kinda like you're doing here, but in person, and begin to overcome it. This could become a disordinate pleasure. Maybe you can PM Fr. Pontifex for some advice. This is gonna be one of the most awkward confessions ever. You know how people always say that priests have heard every sin there is? I wonder... angelica
This is gonna be one of the most awkward confessions ever. You know how people always say that priests have heard every sin there is? I wonder... hey geetarplayer, I think I know how ya feel. Don't allow yourself a chance to get worried about what the priest will think cause it might keep you from going, which cannot happen! Remind yourself again and again that Jesus Himself is in that Confessional ready and waiting for you--he already knows you so well and he knew ALL of your sins before you committed them. And he still died on the cross knowing all of them. I'm sure you know that, but even though I know it I still remind myself when I go to Confession and it helps me! That voice telling you to not go to Confession because "the priest will think you're weird" or because "you've committed a sin too strange/terrible" is the devil trying to keep you from this amesome Sacrament. The devil will try to get you concentrating on your sin and "how bad you are" so he can distract you from what will bring you peace: God's Divine Mercy and loving forgiveness. Don't forget, you can always take advantage of the option to go to Confession behind the screen instead of face-to-face  / :preacher: or even to choose a different priest :preacher: :preacher: :preacher:(as long as you are not choosing him for the wrong reason, i.e. you know you have sinned and fr. so-and-so will not give you absolution so you go to this other priest who wrongly will give it to you, that's another story too) Also, think of what cmotherofpirl said THink of the definition of sin, this sounds more like a leaning or inclination. Think about your motives and discuss them with the priest. A temptation to sin is not a sin in itself--it becomes a sin only when we act on that temptation, allow ourselves to do it, or enjoy thinking about it, etc. You are a human being that will be subject to all kinds of temptations like everyone else, though everyone is different. You are not bizarre--just keep fighting :shield: those temptations with prayer and sacraments! My post is kinda long cause sometimes Confession can be hard for me to go to, too, just ask my family--I always take long! :D hmm, maybe that's why this post is so long... angelica

cmotherofpirl
Venial sins are forgiven in the pentitential rite at t Mass.
BLAZEr
Mark, I don't think you're in mortal sin by tickling someone. At worst, it's a venial sin, which are forgiven during the penitential rite at mass. The only reason I suggested talking to a spiritual director priest is becuase only they can talk with you about your motives . . . why you're doing it . . . if its going too far, etc. And the only danger is that it could become someting like a fetish for you, which is why a priest can help you to overcome this. Please, receive communion, and don't freak out about this too much.
