Ash Wednesday
I love Our Lady of Guadalupe! Patroness of the unborn, pray 4 us! They had tamales, tostadas, some kind of authentic mexican soup of some sort, and a hot drink that I thought was grody. Cake and ice cream was yummers though. Edited December 13, 2003 by Ash Wednesday

lilac_angel
. In past years, storefront churches have lured Latinos into worship with Our Lady of Guadalupe, only to denounce the image as idolatrous. *sigh* If only they listened to her messages, they'd see how Catholic they were. "And again tell him that I, in person, the ever-virgin Holy Mary, Mother of God, sent you.” -- Our Lady of Guadelupe

the_rev
Yesterday, Our bishop was installed on the feast day of our Lady of Guadulupe (obviously) Anyways, the mass was a great mass, I was a guest of honor I guess I could say, because I was a greeter to the bishop. Telvised on live tv. It was great. I greeted him in the name of the youth, and he told me it meant so much that I left half of a day of school, to come and celbrate his installation. The mass was in 6 different languages, representing the diversity of the Catholic faith. Spanish, Latin, Menominee, Polish, English, Hmong, etc. Some of the songs were latin chants and were really powerful. Anyways, I just knew that our Lady was present, because it was so peacefull, everybody was singing the songs loudly, With all the bad things abotu Catholics in our area, finally something good was televised. By invititation only, I was recongined as an oustanding member of the dioceses, how honered and privileged, but I know Mary kept praying for my intention to be at the installation, and God came through through her prayers. Praise God for Mary, what she has done for all of her children.
