Dust's Sister
I have a question about Catholics who have a membership at a certain Parish. I think I asked this before, but I asked it a long time ago. I have a Parish that is 5 minutes away from my house. Before I moved here I use to go to a Parish called St. Joseph's. But when I moved I never changed my membership to the one that is closer to me. I am still a "member" at St. Joseph's, though I havn't been to that Parish in months. I sometimes feel bad for not changing my membership to the closer church. I feel even worse because I don't choose to go to the church that is 5 minutes away from me either. This church's name is St. Vincents. When I go there I just don't feel as "Holy" when I go to Mass. I know you are automatically suppose to feel Holy when you go to Church and especially when you pray, but I just don't feel it there. They don't have a big crucifix hanging on the wall like Catholic Church's usually do. The priest doesn't sing when he does the Eucharistic Feast.......It just always seems like they want to go through the Mass fast there, and another thing when I am there, after receiving the Eucharist, I never have time to pray. It's like the moment I kneel to pray, about a minute later, they are ready to go on with the last blessing. Also, they keep the tabernacle in the back inside the chapel. I hate to complain about a Church, but is it wrong to choose a certain Catholic Church over another? The Church I go to now is about 15 minutes away from me, but for me it's worth the drive. I love it when priests walk around when they say the sermon, and I love it when the bells are rang during the congregation. (They don't do this at the church that is 5 min. away from me) They have a huge crucifix on the wall, they got Mary and St. Joseph statues, and the tabernacle is in the front. I don't know I just feel like there is more peace at the church (St. Maria Goretti's) that's 15 min. away from me, rather then the one that's 5 minutes away from me. So is it wrong to church the church that's not closest to you?
