StatingTheObvious
You must have missed a couple of my previous posts.  I've been getting counseling for years now.  And it's so encouraging to know I should accept the idea I'll never be good at sports, forget about them, and look for something else.  <_<  But apparently you didn't read my posts carefully enough to know that this is far more than just an attempt to "relive my past in different circumstances."  Heck, you don't even know me; thus, I don't think it's your place to tell me what I really need to do.

Unlike you, I'm not just going to decide sports isn't for me just because I was bad at them at one time.  Besides, I said earlier that in this thread I want support, encouragement, and prayers.  If you can't offer those, then don't post in this thread.
You don't know me well either. You also have to face reality. Since I'm blind in one eye, it would be asking people to lie to me when I say I've decided to become a baseball player and all I want is encouragement. Since I'm just over 5', shouldn't people counsel me that I should not set my heart on playing professional basketball? Accept your shortcomings and accept who you are. Who you are is not defined by other people's opinion. You are who you are and who you make yourself to be. If you continue to define yourself with too much weight on how you percieve others percieve you, then you will spend more years bitter, depressed, and sitting on a therapist's couch.

God the Father

BOOM,
I put it in the hoop like,
SLAM,
I heard the crowd screamin out,
JAM,
I swear that I'm tellin you the facts....
cuz that's how I beat shaq.

To get good at sports all you have to do is listen to Aaron Carter, especially "how I beat Shaq."

I'm not playing professional anything! Did you even read what I said earlier? You also don't seem to understand that all I'm concerned about is how I perceive myself and nobody else. Tell me where I said I was concerned about what others think of me. You won't be able to find anyplace where I said that. You're reading way too much into what I say. So you don't think I'll succeed. I say bull. You know, you described yourself earlier as being fat. Am I to assume that you've resigned yourself to that situation instead of making the effort to lose weight?

There are lots of people out there who achieved a lot simply because they didn't face reality, or more appropriately, other people's versions of it. Besides, comparing yourself to me is like comparing apples and oranges. I'm not fat, uncoordinated, short (I'm 6'2"), or blind. So if you refuse to support me or my goals, then you're not worth my time. So please do me a favor and butt out.

And just for the record, aren't you the one who, on seeing a picture of Cam42, asked if he'd eaten too many pop tarts or was bloated with self-importance? That shows me that you have no credibility anyway and just like to be ... well, I'm not gonna say the word, as it could get me warned or suspended. At any rate, your opinions mean nothing to me.
argent_paladin (not so much on the phorum but in a PM regarding this thread, where he was like, "I'm 30, and I never excelled at sports, but you don't see me posting about my childhood traumas on Phatmass!" -- in all just acting like he's so high and mighty just because he keeps things to himself).

Dave! This is uncalled for and uncharitable, you shouldn't be revealing PMs here on the Phorum.

Fraternal Correction Over.... :ninja:

If you post sometihng in a thread, you invite people to read it. It becomes their business. As for me, I'd appreciate it if you'd refrain from calling me a b****, as I believe you were the one opposed to 'belittling' comments! :sadder:

You were the first to tell me I shouldn't post what others say in IMs, and now here you are doing the same thing. And since you made belittling comments, I guess now you know how it feels.

? I don't understand what was belittling about asking you to stop attacking others, just because they don't say what you want to hear. From now on, I'll be sure to steer clear of your threads. You are extremely confusing... goodbye. <_< :idontknow:

I think everyone has been as supportive as they are going to be and I think this can probably get pretty ugly from here on. So, I'm closing this thread. If you have something encouraging to offer Dave, you can pm him.
