Sojourner
We like fruit too ... just for some reason it doesn't get eaten fast enough if it's fresh.
homeschoolmom
The problem with much fruit is that it goes from under ripe to rotten in 84 seconds. You have to really watch closely.
Sojourner
Bananas are the worst for that. I like them with a little bit of green on them, so I buy them mostly green and then they'll last for three, maybe four days. But you can't put them in the refrigerator because they turn black. Ick. All other fruit lasts longer in the fridge. I'm in the mood for fresh peaches right now ... that won't happen for a while.
homeschoolmom
Peaches... <sigh> Bananas are never a problem around here. I buy a couple of bunches because if I buy just one bunch, they're all gone by the end of the day. If on the off chance a couple make it to brown spot status, I make banana bread. Sometimes I have to deliberately buy some extra just to make banana bread....
Sojourner
I'm not a big fan of banana bread. Or really anything banana-flavored or containing banana. I'm really not a picky eater, but I don't like most things banana-related, and I don't like most mushrooms.

Sojourner
Mushroom bread IS disgusting. The person who came up with that should be tarred and feathered.

Sojourner
Sounds like something he'd come up with. You and he never called me with that song tune, by the way. I was really looking forward to it. To fill the musical void, I had to play DJ most of Saturday afternoon. Which was fun, but just somehow not the same. I lived alone, but spent a lot of time with the fam, then they moved. Then I lived by myself for about 9 months housesitting for a friend who was in Poland. Now I live in half of a duplex in a big old house and I have a housemate who is also a close friend. [quote name='hot stuff' date='Jan 9 2006, 12:36 AM']You know what doesn't go bad?
