Balthazor
I just wanted to let you know that you have a prayer here. Both of my sisters have thyroid problems, I don't think either have much of a thyroid left since they have been on their thyroid medication. One of them was more severs than the other though, she also had a heart problem,...... an extra node throwing off her heartbeat. She had to go to Oklahoma to have it corrected, they tried first on Madison and couldn't get it. But now they are both healthy. And happy. So you have my prayers and I hope that I gave you a little comfort or hope with my post.
Ash Wednesday
Donna I'm so happy that you're doing well!!! I had a friend suffer and recover from her Graves Disease as well. Me being the hypothyroid kid, we sit and talk about our thyroids over tea the same way others might talk about their kids. Sometimes thyroid problems are enough to make you want to start lobbying for thyroid transplant research. And, oh yeah. Little song for ya. If the ocean were whiskey and I was a duck, I'd swim to the bottom and never come up. Rye whiskey rye whiskey rye whiskey rye.... If the whiskey don't kill me I'll live till I die.
Donna
Ash...LITTLE FLOWER...Carrie ((hugs))), Bal... Thanks a lot, you guys. Tony: it's better. I never would've known such things could happen. But it's getting better, and I'm dealing w/ the symptoms I have. I liken it in a way to, let's say someone's been very naughty in life re: keeping the Commandments. From then on, once they've returned to the state of grace, it's not as if they'd never sinned...there is almost always memories, and baggage. Even when God forgets and forgives, our human nature doesn't. But I'm chasing remission, and not just antibody numbers and lab levels: but real health. ___________________________________________________________________ Consider (I speak to everyone) printing and saving in a file, all the info on Graves' at the top of page 2 here. Esp. the labs/tracking symptoms info goes for all thyroid deals, and if someone around you is going crazy w/ mental/physical symptoms, they will need this info. They may be so grateful for it. It could literally save a life. The Specialists (in my and others' experience, unfortunately) seem more often than not to be arrogant and scandalously misinformed about some of these things. Quietfire
Donna, Prayers to you. My first opportunity to read this thread, and I wondered if you had any drastic mood swings? Like fine one moment and then BOOM! ripping someone's heart out? I know someone who had Grave's and is no longer on any medication after going through years of radioactive iodine. But lately their moods have got me worried. Never leaving the house, finding excuses to not be a part of life. Hating me in particular (at least it truly seems that way-like they're looking 'down' at me) which all where somewhat the same symptoms when this started years ago. I had studied Grave's somewhat when they were diagnosed a long time ago. But do these panic attacks resemble outlashing in any way? I know this is personal, and I wouldnt want you to feel compelled to 'tell-all' here. But I honestly didnt think of this before, that maybe this person's mental state is being affected by something very physical, a physical life threatening illness, that we thought was under control through medication and eventual thyroid removal years ago. Of course, I could be just grasping at straws here. Thank you. And again, you will be in my prayers for continued good health. Pax.
